Because you can't make seven fucking games, have all of them be shit, and have it not be entirely incompetence. None of these games have a redeeming factor in hindsight, we were just brainwashed by cultural osmosis.

During the honeymoon phase, of course. This is just my personal experience, but literally everyone I know who liked Elden Ring on launch turned on it. Literally nobody likes it or will defend it anymore. Joseph Anderson and theDeMocracy already unraveled their flaws to the public, and now public perception is ruined. I unironically think the DLC will have extremely low sales compared to the other Souls games DLC.

Elden Ring sold well, but it's still an objectively shit game.

Literally who? Your experience was not mine, I heard more of my friends complaining about their favorite movesets being changed/not existing. And no, I am not going to youtube or google or whatever and looking those two names up. No clicks for them.

Came out on friday, by tuesday criticism started rolling in and it only increased from that point on.
I'm glad this game got what it deserved and for fucking once Any Forums's discernment capabilities didn't disappoint me.

i really used to hate dark souls 3 and i kind of still do but elden ring made me look back at it a lot fonder. the pvp was a lot more enjoyable, invasions were fun and i think even the single player stuff was pretty alright. it at the very least felt cohesive.
