exactly. old games age via mechanics and outdated gameplay loops but theirs always faggots going "muh soul". Like for example, the first DMC game aged like shit but you get DMChuds going " but muh atmosphere", like okay? that's not enough to carry a game. Especially when the final boss is dogshit

Good thing there's a remake that improves on the original in every way.

I played it for the first time recently and its actually aged better than most games of it's era. It's simple, fun, it's mechanics are clear, it's level design is consistently good, it's not too long, there's almost zero filler thats forced on the player, it's pacing is nearly perfect, it's relaxing to play without worrying too much about challenge, it feels like an adventure within the abstract constraints of a videogame world in a perfect way.
