Why don't you own a gaming laptop, user?

>mfw alder lake cpu
this new generation of shit is great

My Lenovo Legion 5 is doing just fine.

I like being able to play games at my desk, on my sofa, in bed, getting my dick sucked, etc.

Why don't you have a girlfriend, OP?

You're just posting stale memes from a decade ago - that isn't an issue for modern gaming laptops. I have a Lenovo Legion 5 with a 3050ti + Ryzen 7 5800H and it never exceeds 75c for most games. I can play all newer titles on high/max settings at 1080p 60 fps+ (e.g. Elden Ring). The noise factor is a non issue when wearing headphones.

Cope...

The Lenovo Legion 5 rules. I went from a 3570k GTX 770 desktop to this and I've never owned anything so powerful. The best part is it's only like $950.

works fine on my machine!

>never exceeds 75c

teach me your ways. I have a Legion 5 from 2019 with a 1660ti and I7 9750H, and every single demanding game makes my temperatures go up to 98c. Repasted it recently.

>all the Lenovo shilling ITT
lots of “Canadians” and “Australians” on Any Forums today huh

How much time have you owned those? I have a msi from 2013 and after about 3 years of used it had malfunctioned in a bunch of different ways making it a chose to play : too loud, so hot that it somehow makes the electricity plug loose, pads doesn't work unless doing some dark wizard bullshit that I had to figure out by myself.

Did laptops really got better?

>Acer Nitro 5 with a fucking RTX 3070 and Ryzen 5800H selling for only $1260 in my country

Unironically considering it. A desktop with comparable specs costs like $300 more here. Fucking central europe jew prices.

The only thing missing from the laptop is an operating system, but I can just get it for free or cheap

Cooling pads are a meme lol. 2 degree difference at most.

Laptops got a lot better. They put actual graphic cards in them now. Not some Indian fucking 850M garbage they used to put in them back in 2014 that had like 60% of the power of the real graphic cards

To be fair only for a few months. But if you are having issues with thermals then you'll need to reapply thermal past to the cpu and gpu. But yeah I think the cooling systems for gaming laptops have gotten significantly better since 2013. Not only the cooling system but of course the CPU/GPU architectures are more efficient all around.

Not sure what to tell you, in the newer models they use a different more improved cooling system.

my laptop throttles cxause it hits 98 degrees and i still get 200 fps, dont care.

My Lenovo Legion 5 is doing just fine.

what does this even mean? does the USA have exclusive better laptops?

If I get a laptop with 3060 or 3070, is that enough to run every game for that generation of console? What about the next?

I own a Dell G5 5590.
Out of the box, it thermal throttles like crazy, but I undervolted the CPU and fixed the 3d clocks of the GPU (RTX 2060) and now it runs like a dream.
I can play pretty much everything at 1080p 60fps+.

>not having a laptop with a pluggable water cooling port
what is this, 1995?

>in the newer models they use a different more improved cooling system.

are you fucking kidding me

sigh

guess I'll have to upgrade again

>RATATATATAATATATATATAT
completely normal

why not just use a desktop by that point?

>have 2013 800$ windows 7 rig
>everything just werks
>case is freezing cold playing arma 3 100 player games, total war war hammer and elden ring/sekiro

Sucks to suck

Laptops are unironically the better option with how fucking expensive desktops are right now

I did, a Dell XPS with a 8600M which adjusted for performance inflation is about equal to a 2070ti.

I travel a lot while working, and still wanna game.

>Makes thread shitting on laptops
>last laptop bought in 2013
Proof that this site's majority is composed of tech iliterates.
Yes they got better and no, not all laptops are weak ticking time bombs. Unless you buy one with intel inside, then ye.
Buy a new laptop and then start to shit yourself over actual laptop problems.

I wonder how the laptops are going to solve the next gen gpus power consumption + heat generation. Nvidia is going full retard on power consumption ( And heat ) and AMD albeit not going full retard, the power consumption is gonna increase aswell.

>check
>laptops still use underpowered, undervolted, and overpriced product lines for parts
no, seems like physics didn't suddenly change in the past few years

if you're going to go out of your way to make your laptop as bulky and unwieldy as possible what's the fucking point of portability

I'm gonna wait till 2025 to get a gaming laptop to be sure it has good cooling and SSD storage up to atleast 2 tb

Disclaimer: I'm 30 and married with 3 kids

I have an Alienware 15 R3, iirc. Bought it in 2015 or so?

Keyboard feels great. The 1080 maxq in it runs things nearly as well as the 1080 in my desktop, and the fans are quiet enough that I don't notice them over e.g. talking to my wife or watching TV.

I use a laptop because the only time I have to play games is while the kids are asleep after 8pm and my wife and I are relaxing in bed. So being able to lay next to her on my laptop is a lot more conducive to chatting than sitting at a desk buried in a monitor.

Similarly, if the kids are napping and we're on the couch, just being able to bring my laptop down and play on the couch is convenient.

My desktop is basically just a Vive machine at this point.

I don't really get why these threads are so common. Is it so hard to conceive that the portability is really valuable?

it's not the 00's anymore

Yeah no wonder. You have a piece of shit igpu with only 4 gigs of vram. My midrange desktop from 3 years ago cost just as much and performs 50% faster. Fucking lmao.
