The in-game country was communist for ages up until like 60 years ago when there was a coup or a war or some shit, forget which, and a new political system was put in place. Going around spouting how communism is awesome and how you need to restart the revolution gets people looking at you with a mixture of pity, amusement and a tiny bit of hope because you're that guy who is living in modern Europe claiming the years of the Monarchy were the best shit ever and everyone needs to return to them. 95% of people can't even remember that shit and are going to ignore you, 4% will think it's kinda cute you are hopelessly living in the past, and 1% will sort of agree and reminisce privately. The only people in the game who openly sort of nod respectfully if you talk about how awesome communism is are the super old guys who still vaguely remember those times, and even they think it's little more than a pipe-dream but are thankful you reminded them of it.
