FFXIV's community is so annoying that they're making streamers quit the game

I stopped playing and unsubbed one day after getting the Seat of Sacrifice mount because I realized most of the farms in ffxiv are completely pointless. Nothing changes, nothing evolves, you just pick the class that plays like every other class in its role and run the treadmill for glorified Fortnite skins.

If you want a game that leans on its story like a VN then go for it, but if you want a robust game then the pattern recognition machine that is FFXIV is hard to recommend unless you have played nearly every single ff and get off on fanservice.

The point of it was to give an objective review of the game that I put honest time (800+ hours) into. I hate the cult that tells new or on-the-fence players that the game is amazing after the first 100 hours when that is a huge exaggeration. I hate dishonesty more than anything.

The community reacted badly because he overhyped what he was going to be streaming. If it was just a regular stream where he went back to the game then people would be okay with it, but he over promised and people got mad because they tuned in expecting content he really didn't want to give them. He should honestly just drop the game at this point.

And to further add to when I posted it, I was dogpiled for not having the rarest mounts, titles, and Ultimate clears on my toon. Like, why would I keep playing if I've concluded 80% of the way through the game that the experience won't change?

I should have split that up more. I was saying that fates/etc. Were all the same flavor of mob hunting. The 1st 3 were to point out that there isn't much to do in the overworld, which is fine until you realize that you have no reason to go back to 80% of the areas unless your treasure maps take you there. You have to go out of your way to afk or walk around doing nothing but maybe FATEs in comfy areas like Raktika or the Steppe. The Shroud and Limsa both have exclusive things that you can't do in some way shape or form anywhere else, so why did that just stop after ARR?

Accurate, I quit after being EW, after creating a new account halfway through ShB.

I loved every second of it, but hit a brick wall at endgame when I got a few transmogs I wanted.

MSQ is evergreen content for streamers.

Compare that to shit like Elden Ring, Lost Ark, or Vampire Survivors where there's a month or two of hype before slowly dying off in the mainstream conscious.

EW was a downgrade and ShB was only carried by the Ascian plot. They keep dumbing down and nuking animations so jobs turn stagnant. The game is making SE too much money for them to put it on life support while they work on another MMO (probably not a worthy investment this day and age anyway)
