Near invisible enemies in the fog and giggling curse pots were pretty unnerving.
Souls games need more chilly vibe areas and not just le epic setpieces.
They copied some parts of it in Sekiro and Elden Ring although made it worse.

They put in a skip and then ruined it by arbitrarily locking the archives until you mostly beat the game

the difference is elden ring's shit parts were completed and just shit in and of itself. shaded woods is obviously unfinished, looks like dogshit compared to the rest of the game, the boss is a DS1 reskin, and is a minor sour point in an otherwise fantastic game.
