Simple idiot. In the Star Fox universe, the Lylat System is actually the Sol system we live in now. Corneria is clearly Earth. Venom is Venus. Something happened to the original humans where they released a pathogen either before or after we became space faring. The animals, given an eon of time to evolve without us in the way, all developed sapience. This either happened with some assistance from some gene-editing microphage or nature had a surprise and somehow evolved many of the animals along side each other. Making the planet similar to a Tolkien world with different races competing for resources. For whatever reason, they didn't nuke each other and instead banded together to reach space. They speak English because it was the prominent language when humans all died, giving it reverence as the 'way of the ancients', which eventually settled into a secularized normalcy. The animals then proceed to making giant warships, space battle stations, and planet busting weapon systems. The rest is history
Here's the thing: Nintendo doesn't care if you want furry Mass Effect or a Star Fox Assault remake or a Zero follow up where Platinum is in full control. It's going to remain as another boring pet project shiggy puts out per console.
At best, you could probably convince Nintendo to do more SF spinoffs. Maybe a Smash spinoff featuring Star Fox characters and cater to the FGCnigs that are tired of rehashed Brawl gameplay. Or maybe do something like Star Fox Grounded, where it's some RPG akin to MLRPG.
I don't know man. Traditional Star Fox is dead to Furakawa's eyes and Miyamoto is just dragging it's corpses around like some lunatic.

Star Fox in particular is a huge wasted opportunity because it's probably one of the only properties Nintendo has that naturally dips into a more gritty/adult setting (besides Metroid) and they just do nothing with it.
