I always think it's funny when the grammar nazis come out swinging. Language is 100% a construct with no inherent value beyond how it is used and how it is capable of being used, and the word "unironically" must be possible because people are using it and it is understood. That said, unironically does have meaning in that it is used to demonstrate that a thing that is done for irony is being done in seriousness, and that as part of that it has gone through the irony thing first.
An example is the ugly ass haircuts that zoomers have nowadays. It used to be that you got a bowl cut cos your mom did it (cos you’re poor) and then millennials started wearing them ironically cos it was cool to poke fun at stuff.
And then zoomers got them UNironically.
Their reason is slightly different than the OG, in that they recognise the ironic use and then accept the use as serious.
