What the fuck kind of map is this? How am I supposed to find anything with it? Why even bother making something so useless?

imagine if tomb raider had maps like this instead of quest markers

It's realistic, no one has a map of a secret underground city.

No. No no no.
You know what map is fucking useless???

Any map in any fallout game after fallout 2.
And oblivion, Skyrim. And I'm sure motherfuckin starfield will be the same.
Bethesda can't make a map system if it was to save their own grandmother.

Who the FUCK though it would be a good idea to just slap a top down view of an area as the local map? They don't even fucking bother with removing overhanging geometry. No no, if you use the local map in a city, enjoy having to see every fucking light pole and roof awning. In a cave?? Every fucking bump and stalactite.
God they piss me off to this day.

Just make up some reason for him to have one. Why should the gameplay suffer for the story?

The gameplay is for you to use the two remaining brain cells you have left to figure out how to read a map.

I bet they thought they were really clever rendering it from the actual game map

That map is literally unreadable. It serves as nothing more than a distraction.

you want skyrim to be even EASIER? the fast travel and quest markers leading you around by the nose isn't enough? maybe you'd enjoy watching the game on youtube instead? if you can manage to find the page by yourself

THIS.
Having to read a map is infinitely better than sleepwalking through the game using quest markers.

up is north
you're welcome

I loved that level. In the end I liked pretty much all additional Gold levels, yes, even the Thieves Guild. It sucked the first time, but once you have the general layout and logic behind it down, it's really damn good.

It's an abstract sort of map. Which, true, defeats the purpose of a MAP, but it's there for general orientation. I liked Thief maps.

I like the undead missions

Based

Just consider you should not get a map at all for that level because it is a fucking lost city and you are getting something instead of nothing. Get over it you child.

I like that first Thief wasn't as strictly defining the way Thief 2 was. Some prefer more heist-focused sequel, though.

I just dislike how modern map systems are just there to make everything interesting permanently marked to the player. It turns the act of exploration into "reaching what the game has marked for you" because most people can't actually orient themselves to save their life.

I'd like to not have to rely on quest markers. But any in game map is useless towards that purpose. Idiot.

Haven't played this in a while but if I remember right you move clockwise through the level. The map also highlights what area you are in. It's not really hard at all.

the first crypt mission was great, but unfortunately the majority of the undead missions are also the worst levels in the game besides Thief's Guild
