*grunts*

It really can't be helped

The room before boss room having a bunch of consumables. The game should punish the player for wasting all of their supplies on normal enemies

>it can be helped

fuck that shit

>common phrases in one language don't translate into common phrases in another
o gee wiz

That shit is only in Japanese games, mostly by amateur translators.

Ironically professional translators get all kind of shit for working around Japanese writing conventions that don't work well in English, accusing them of mistranslating just because it isn't a mirror translation by self-assessed n3s who finally memorized hiragana after three years, and avid Japanese media consumers who "just have a feel for what they actually say, man".

Let's eat!

>tutorial includes a boss fight that you have one shot at and are expected to lose
>cutscene makes you the loser even though you were doing well in the fight
>cutscene prevents you from acting (i.e. player character stands still when they could be preventing shit from happening)
>dodge/dash can't cancel your current action (applies to fast-paced games)
>game makes you question if you are supposed to be able to solve a puzzle or not

Saying Itadakimasu is Japanese culture

>get to a puzzle
>game immediatelly tells you how to solve it by having the character start talking to themselves out loud about what they should do

Gruff character who slowly warms up.
Why can't a grumpy bastard just BE a grumpy bastard.

Whatever.

Please no fanfics. Just translate the game. No need to put your own special twist to be unique, just translate exactly what it says and rearrange it so that it reads in English. Don't add anything to spice it p.

Thanks for confirming, you are the reason the picture in OP exists. Congratulations.

It can't be helped. That's just life.

There is nothing wrong with the picture in the OP.

ur mum's japanese culture

Rub-a-dub-dub, thanks for the grub!

>Literally a LOCALIZATION
>As in autistic coke-snorting retards in the 70's who barely knew Japanese chose to translate it as "It can't be helped" to the closest approximation

Why is it spammed so hard as "grrr this sounds so unnatural, all my friends on reddit agree"?

Why not just translate it as "bon appetit?" They functionally mean similar things, and it's not like it's an uncommon or unknown phrase in the Anglosphere.

>character won't stop talking to himself
I hate most modern games for this. JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP.

It's because nobody talks like this in English. Of course it sounds unnatural.

I'm actually shocked people here defend this shit, but I shouldn't be surprised, it's a shithole after all.

but what if... it COULD be helped?

Masaka...

GOMENASORRY

Would be better if they put in some variation, like "well, what can I do?"

Have you, in all your life, actually never been in a situation where someone said:
>There's no helping it
>Nothing can be done
>It can't be helped
>No point
>There isn't anything we can do about it

I'd rather have engrish than outdated memes and internet jokes that weren't in the original
And yes, it does seem like those are mutually exclusive.
