desu it was a good thing they removed the old map
old map was super ugly, had tons of pathing bugs
took more resources than the new one and was so oversatured that it was sometimes really hard to see the champions.

Theres a reason the new map looks so undersaturated compared to the old ones, it makes the champions stand out more.

old league had a charm to it and that was part of what made it fun
"muh competitiveness" is precisely what ruined the game. dont even get me started on game "balancing"

used to play it, four about 4 years daily, 2015-2019, but riot changed too much, removed maps and game mods, instead of adding more great events like Odyssey, Ascension, butcher bridge, doom bots, etc they instead removed them all together because muh only 2 mil people played them.
Each new champ has like 2 passives for each ability and are cancerous to play against, riot added a pass like in fornite, but is the worst pass in the gaming industry, you need to play 15$ and you need to grind for a month straight maybe to get 4 skins and some shity emotes/icons, the reworks are in 80% of cases garbage, riot is balancing the game around gay esport, people who play 12 hours per day, instead of the normal peoples who are the majority. Each time they rework a system in the game, they make it worse for the players etc.
So many issues to stop playing that garbage game

to be fair, the game was always supposed to be competitive
the main reason LoL and both HoN were made in the first place was because there was neither leaver protection nor an anti cheat or disconnect protection, which made dota1 in wc3 super frustrating to play, 80% of games I had on public 1 or 2 people left the game after the first blood.

it looked super ugly in motion, when I was playing lol beta in 2010 or 11 the main complain I have seen was that the game was just looking extremely ugly and everyone said that they prefered HoN less saturated artstyle
