Bioshock Infinite was one of the most hyped up games of its time but its only lasting legacy was that the porn of its main character was responsible for several breakthroughs in 3d animation

Besides the "wait a minute that card" memes was this game any good? Bioshock 1 kind of lost my interest by being a watered down deus ex/system shock fake imsim and I kinda never paid attention to these games after that

idk I never played the games just know about it because of the porn.

Gameplay is whatever. Story is garbage.

If you already thought Bioshock 1 was mediocre, you'll not like Infinite because it's even worse. I'll stand by to this day that Bioshock 2 (and the Minerva's Den DLC) is the only good Bioshock game

Is 2 really worth a try? I tried 1 and just thought it was boring

I would say so. I thought 1 was boring as well, but I enjoyed 2. If you aren't enjoying yourself an hour and a half in feel free to dump it

This is a meme, there were no "breakthroughs".

It mostly has nice aesthetics going for it. Gameplay is just okay, serviceable enough, but a big step back compared to the previous games.
Unlike with Rapture (the setting of Bioshock 1 and 2), Columbia doesn't even try to make much sense and remain coherent. It looks cool though.
Story seems deep at first glance but completely falls apart the second you actually try to think about it

how come this series was forgotten this fast unlike half life or even system shock?

2 is fantastic

yes there were.

I liked Infinite more than 2

They're too different to compare

Yes, goes to show how bad the game actually was after all was said and done by 2013 ""journalists"""

Not really

test failed

>its only lasting legacy was that the porn of its main character was responsible for several breakthroughs in 3d animation
You are right, Tracer and Mercy are revolutionary characters

It's even more simplified than Bioshock 1 and 2. Hacking is gone, replaced with a temporary mind control plasmid, only 4 gear slots which is the shitty replacement for gene tonics which was the mediocre replacement for the upgrade stations. Only 2 weapons at once and the vigors were pretty underwhelming. None of your choices change anything btw

but those are characters from a different game

2 defintely has the best gameplay, but I really love the setting of infinite as cliche as it is. The parts where you can walk around before everything goes to shit are pretty comfy.

I wish they had went the more horror oriented route they had originally planned

>this is what boomers thought was scary
and you shit on siren head lmao

this is verbatim a viral twitter post from like a month ago kill yourself

Boomers like silent hill for horror

You sure know a lot about twitter maybe you should fuck off back, touristtranny

Yeah, it's a fun shooter with a nice story.

at least im not copying posts into a text file to pull out weeks later

>attractive in an old blouse and longskirt
>the modern women wears yoga pants and pushup cleavage shirts
i fucking hate this timeline

>2 defintely has the best gameplay

I bet you played the first three hours with the rivet gun, dropped the game and heard somebody else say this. Bioshock 2 having better combat is a meme, it's just easy as fuck so nobody gets unhappy.

I literally remember nothing about the gameplay or levels, except that once I got a bolt action rifle with a tonic that restores magic with headshots and my mind control spell, I was basically unstoppable

>t
It absolutely does have better combat, plasmids are improved and the upgrades have utility. You're also give a lot more traps to utilize

It's a beautiful game and Elizabeth is cute. That's all the game has going for it really. The gameplay is serviceable and pacing and story is such that it keeps you interested. In the end it's an enjoyable game to play through once, but a game that didn't live up to the hype. Instead of something great we got something average and gaming journos praising it was the final nail in the coffin.
