That's just the surface personality, you have to look past the talking in third person thing. When you look at the characters as a whole she's one of the most well adjusted out there. No freak disorder, active social life before and during the game, variety of skills and isn't just a one note talent, friendly towards other people and positive and forward thinking (one of the only people who actually tried to interact with Mikan).
