EGS has always been a store for the corporations. all the savings are passed on to them. they also made it impossible to review bomb products whenever corporations do something that pisses off the consumer.

He tried to pull that off by basically paying out of his pocket. I think you could buy a $60 game for $50 and the publisher would receive the same cut anyway. Except the publisher REALLY didn't like that, maybe because it devalued the product in the public eye or whatever. Anyway it's not happening.

Steam has a condition where you can't sell for cheaper somewhere else than on steam. If they were to list a game for 50 on EGS and 60 on steam, the game could be pulled from steam.

That only applies to steam keys. It just prevents a dev from selling the game for half price on their own site to get around steams cut.

If you multi store your game, you can't make it cheaper on EGS due to contracts. All stores have it inside the agreement you sign.
If it's EGS exclusive it can't be cheaper because there is no other store to compare it with.
