probably next year or the year after to coincide with the new universal studios theme park DK section, also they're doing a DK movie after mario, so maybe connected

They have multiple studios and DK sells well enough. DK is actually the 3rd best selling platformer series of all time. Retro is typically in charge of the series these days, but they've been busy with Prime 4. I'm sure once they're done with that they'll put out a new DKC.

Rare were the ones actually doing something with the IP. If it wasn't for them DK would have stayed in the arcade style forever. Nintendo is just going to rehash DKC clones until the end of time.
