>prices are barely coming down at all >4000 series cards just around the corner
What will you do Anons. Get a 4000 card, or wait for the 3000's to drop lower? My 970 wont hold out much longer, and I would like to run things at a silky smooth 2560x1440 at 144hz.
>Get a 4000 card enjoy the increased MSRP along with buying a new PSU >wait for the 3000's to drop lower lol lmao even
Nolan Allen
>wait for 4000 series >more expensive >barely any difference >have to buy a 1500w psu and a new case cause shit will be hotter than a motherfucker Seems kinda retarded ngl
Andrew Lee
With crypto down the 4000s will be more reasonably priced. The high energy prices over the next several years will keep crypto down for a while, so the cryptobros won't be spending much on new hardware.
Joseph Cook
lol do people really think GPUs will go wildly up in price in a recession, when they're a luxury good
Daniel Lopez
I have a 1080 and the most taxing thing I play is monster hunter rise at 1440p 120hz and it gets a locked 120fps so I'm not really worried about upgrading
Cameron Robinson
Nvidia's largest market is datacenters, they don't need you at all
Kayden Butler
datacenters dont buy geforce
Evan Peterson
No game needs higher than a 2070. But go ahead and buy the best, strongest one.
I have been keeping track of the prices on midrange cards for months, and they have barely budged in all that time.
soiface clickbaiting youtubers making videos about GPU prices crashing are talking about 3090s going from full retard prices like 5k down to somewhat normal. The real prices have not changed that much at all.
Joseph Thompson
Right but they don't have to lower consumer prices to survive, so they'll raise prices because they can What are you gonna do, wait another 2 years?
Oliver Adams
the prices on midrange cards have gone down like $20-30 in the past 5 months, so they are probably effectively higher priced now than they were then due to the high rate of inflation lmao.
Xavier Lopez
>2070 still stutters randomly when playing genshit LMAO
Ian Ramirez
Get cards now, while they're available.
You fucking know, crypto crash or no, new graphics cards are going to be scalped to hell and back
Aaron King
I'm going to wait for the 5000 series.
Luis Richardson
the initial 4000 cards definitely will since they will only be releasing 4080s, it will be months before the midrange 4000s come out.
You won't see a 4060 release until something like april 2023.
Jaxon Ross
Get whatever works, there aren't that many graphically intensive games coming out that look entertaining or impressive. Certainly not impressive enough to need bleeding edge tech. I have a 3080 and I play in 1080p, often on those graphically intensive games I change the settings to medium or high. I got this set up because I believe my life will be financially difficult in the coming decade and I likely won't be able to afford many things, including hardware.
Xavier Flores
I pulled the trigger on a 3060 TI. My R9 390 is something like 7 years old now. It's time to upgrade, because I don't know how much time it has left. Getting a new CPU as well.
Mason Torres
3080 msrp is 699.99 and partner cards are between 100 to 300 more than that. Not sure what kind of massive drop you're waiting on that's pretty par the course for gpu prices.
Evan Moore
>3060 TI how loud does it get when at 100% usage? Unironically the reason why I went for 1050ti years ago was cause its fucking silent as fuck
Christopher Anderson
4000 cards are just 3000 that can take higher power limits.
Ryan Brown
>looking at "leaks" for 4000 series cards >RTX 4080 is basically just a 3080Ti
