Where did Skyrim modding go wrong? something something 6 gorillion mods later

>pauldrons, greaves system that isnt turbo shit and 6 years old not available
>all combat mods are le sekiro dodge roll mekanik
>dragon riding is still dogshit trash
>worst of all some fucker is just ripping witcher 3 monsters into the game like pic related

What the fuck Any Forums?

You're supposed to install the porn mods

I geniunely think that there would be more talent found in the most degenerate mods on some cesspoll of a site of some basement dweller modelling a cumsplat on a whores face than there is in 95% of nexus mods

>all combat mods are le sekiro dodge roll mekanik
Skyrim lends itself well to soulslike combat, people want it because it's great. Melee FPS combat has always been shit.
>b-but mordhau and chiv
Especially mordhau and chiv

Honestly I might have to disagree with you there purely from a technical standpoint, bethesdas jank animations are so jarring especially when you do get a solid combat flow modlist working and half the time its a dice roll on the dodges working properly. That's just one part of it aswell like everyone and their fucking mother claims to be lore friendly so where the fuck are mods like something to change the weapons to have ACTUAL use and value eg an orcish sword penetrating or even tearing off pieces of armor more easily (loading screens even fucking say this i think) compared to something like a glass sword which might provide something like bleeding dmg? I shouldnt be so mad but fuck the whole scene is so soulless

>pauldrons, greaves system that isnt turbo shit and 6 years old not available
Make one yourself lmao. If you gave a fuck you'd notice most "best" mods have same roots - "I didn't like thing so I changed it literally for myself, and then it snowballed from there".

>all combat mods are le sekiro dodge roll mekanik
There are limits to what can be done with Skyrim's shitty combat. Pseudo-souls is best thing so far to actually function in that game.

>dragon riding is still dogshit trash
Dragons are an abomination tacked on top. There is a reason why at best they get skins and various "+hp" shit for mods - changing too much about dragons outright breaks them, because no one at Bethesda actually humored the idea of someone wishing to change something about scripted flying lizards.

>worst of all some fucker is just ripping witcher 3 monsters into the game like pic related
That's how mods always were, for any game at any time you'd find plenty of mods that just take X from Y and put it in Z.

All in all, you mistake modders for AAA devs that do it for free/vocal dicksucking.

>sekiro
>dodge roll
What the fuck are you smoking

Looks awfull
>that roll animation
Kek

This zoomer never played Dark Messiah

Seems like you forgot to download the custom attack animations, those are a must. Some are even ripped straight from Dark Souls 3.
And I bet there are some mods out there that kind of do what you want by adding additional enchants and shit.

>Make one yourself lmao. If you gave a fuck you'd notice most "best" mods have same roots - "I didn't like thing so I changed it literally for myself, and then it snowballed from there".

I see your points, I don't nearly have enough time to sit there and wade through what is purportedly to be wanting to peel off your own eyelids in terms of coding something like a separate armor system with the different values and locational dmgs needed. I just thought if some motherfucker can sit there for 3-4 years and jizz over their creation of different water flow movements someone by now would have looked into something a bit more important you know ie the mechanics and functions of some of the most overlooked parts of the game which were found in earlier titles.

>Dragons are an abomination tacked on top. There is a reason why at best they get skins and various "+hp" shit for mods - changing too much about dragons outright breaks them, because no one at Bethesda actually humored the idea of someone wishing to change something about scripted flying lizards.

True, I couldnt remember if I wanted to but I think I did see a video of a modder trying to implement 4 legged dragons at one point and the engine to put it lightly, caught on fire.

Apologies, if it sounded like bitching but when I see shit like that (it escapes me) mod for gothic 2 that just seems so loving crafted but in the end I answer my own question, no one wants to stress over how shiny a polished dogshit is.

I did, I just didn't like it. I'm a sucker for third person.

I FEEL LIKE THE DWEMER IN THE NANOSECOND BEFORE THEY WERE WIPED FROM REALITY: MAD AND NOT MAKING SENSE

Dark Messiah genuinely has some of the best melee in a Western game, and the only RPG I can think of to have actual swashbuckling action near every level, how could you not get at least a kick out of that? Or the actual kicking.

I FUCKING KNEW SOMEONE WOULD COME IN HERE WITH THE EXACT GODDAMN ROLL MOD I WAS THINKING OF

Did the HDT physics capes get ported to SE finally? that shit always pissed me off with the glue capes in the early days of SE

I should replay it again, it has been a long time.
I feel like first person melee combat only works in VR, it's hard to judge distances and position yourself correctly in a battle to avoid taking damage on a flat screen. Something that's covered a lot better in third person games.

>Skyrim lends itself well to soulslike combat
That's because Skyrim's engine can only support the blandest of combat styles: floaty hack'n'slash and soulscrap. People want it because it's shit just like their tastes. Melee FPS combat has been good, you just don't have taste and probably grew up on skyrim or dark souls 1

yes

Dark Messiah has pretty good default FOV and judging distance in it is relatively easy - it helps weapon reaches are very consistent, the only "long" reach you get in melee is a poke you get with staves. I definitely recommend giving it a replay, if solely so you can get mad because it's pretty much the true Thief 4 (with a worse protagonist, but still better than THIAF's).

I won't lie, I did all my playthroughs to dust. Im waiting for some combined modpack in 10 years for all of the Beyond Skyrim shit to come out and doing one long and painful last hurrah
