Fire Emblem Awakening Difficulty

Isn't this game WAY to difficult in the hard difficulty? yeah I know it's called hard for a reason but it seems impossible to beat some levels without losing units.

Everyone except for Frederick seems to have terrible defense and the AI seems to be actually smart enough to gang up against the weaker units until they're death.

It's my first ever fire emblem game but I am not new to this type of strategy games if hard is this HARD then how difficult is lunatic?

Luci's voice warms my heart when nothing else will.

The early maps of awakening lunatic are a crapshoot where you just reset for good enough RNG to dodge every enemy attack, because every one of your units dies in 1-2 hits and even if you wanted to slowly and tank you simply dont have enough healing to keep doing it

OMG.. she is so attractive..

Lunactic Plus is so difficult, you had to rely on rng, frederick, and robin for the beginning chapters until you unlocked dragons gate.

Just wait until you get to the tree level on hard mode
awakenings higher difficulties are fucking stupid

why does he do it lads

The game's balance is broken. It's either piss easy or bullshit so hard that you can't get by unless you abuse certain units like Fredrick. You're honestly better off playing any other FE because this one is one of the worst.

>Lunatic
It's Lunatic+ you should be worried about :^)

You are genuinely trash at the game if you think this.

You can solo any difficulty with just robin and a chrom pair up, the game design has no thought put into it and this is the result

You can literally solo everything with your avatar even at the highest difficulty

No, its just stupid and poorly made. Its more or less as said. Then Robin gets enough levels to stop blowing ass and just solo's the game.

People shit on stuff like Marth,Sigurd, Seth or Haar soloing their games, but they at least can use help to get stuff done quicker, and in Haar's case he cannot solo the game at the end for obvious reasons. Robin literally solo's the game with either Fred or Chrom as a backpack while sucking everything dry, and its quicker and safer to do so for 90% of it. That first 10% is complete bullshit and everyone hates it.

You'd think they had learned hard overtuning the early game was retarded with 11, but nope, they made it worse.

lunatic+ is a shitty meme difficulty, everything under that is a joke. But you can still beat lunatic+ reliably if you abuse the water terrain in the first level to feed exp to the main character. In some maps it's best to only deploy the MC + chrom because your other units get killed easily whereas your MC can snowball into a juggernaut.

>hard is too easy
>lunatic is dumb meme shit and you have to play a specific way to win

No, but Lunatic+ is genuine bullshit.
Like, math autists literally proved it was impossible to beat early maps unless the bullshit skill distribution among enemies was juuuuuuuuust right.

>awakening not on lunatic
>difficult at all
I know this is your first game, but jeez.
Some tips:
As you have figured out, enemies will always attack units they can deal the most damage to, but this also makes them very predictable. Use this to your advantage. Be mindful of your enemies' movement range, keep your low defense units out of their range, or if you can't, try to make it so they are only taking damage that won't kill them. It is easy enough to figure out whether or not a unit can survive said attacks with basic math.
Fire Emblem is a game of continuous threat assessment and management. You should be asking yourself every turn: how can I deal with the most amount of threats while taking the least amount of damage?
Don't "save" good weapons for later if they are useful right now. Use the good weapon if it allows you to save yourself some damage now, unless that damage is trivial.
Use terrain to your advantage, be mindful of the weapon triangle.
If Frederick is the only unit you have that can deal with a threat, use frederick.

Don't bother with hard mode in that shit game. Awakening is literally just a generic JRPG with TRPG combat, not an actual strategy game. You beat the game by either grinding like a madman or by benching everyone except Robin since she's broken beyond belief. The game isn't balanced at all and the lunatic difficulty is built around the fucking DLC
If you want an actual fire emblem game on the 3DS with fair difficulty then play Conquest hard mode. Once you git gud then you can move on the lunatic difficulty which only shits the floor in the final 3 maps unlike awakening that is bullshit right from the get go

>hard
>difficult
Play Lunatic if you want real challenge and Lunatic+ if you want bullshit.

That's generally what happens when a game has retard tier level design making every map an open field with route enemy for every objective.

That's about it. Well, with infinite skirmishes and dlcs you'll just fucking overlevel and the game will play as if it's on hard.

Hard is not difficult, it's unfair. Units with 8 move will spawn from stupid places with little to no prior warning and kill your weak units without you being able to do anything about it. It basically forces you to only deploy your best units because everyone else will just die. It gets even dumber in the harder modes where the only consistent strategy to beat the game is benching everyone but Chrom and Robin and making them an unkillable pair because trying to use anyone else is simply not worth it.

Are your soldiers green? If not you're playing it wrong
