Face it. People know who Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth and Aerith are. People who have never played a Final Fantasy game know who they are.
No one knows or cares about Terra, Sabin, Edgar, Locke, Celes, Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, BUTTS, Galuf or whoever the fuck else. FF7 will be remembered well after every other game in the series is long forgotten.
