I don't care for this particular topic, to be honest.

major fuckup from Nightdive

Attached: blade runner.jpg (1916x2848, 1.15M)

It looks perfectly fine to me. You gaymers expect too much.

Is this the first remaster Nightdive managed to fuck up?

They fucked up Blood and with Atari's autism they cant even fix it anymore

>nightdive has ZERO access to the original code
>for a game that was legendarily known for being black voodoo magic of the time
>fucks it up
Really they shouldn't have even done it.

Fuck me that's bad. I was hoping all the hubbub was just graphicsfags and "muh soul" autists freaking about nothing, but that's really awful.

ScummVM's team reverse engineered Blade Runner over a few years, fixed heaps of bugs, restored cut content (optional) and worked with GOG to release the game on GOG.

Night Dive wanted to remaster the game on multiple platforms. What they should have done is used ScummVM's code, but it would need a different license, WHICH SCUMMVM WAS WILLING TO ACCOMIDATE. But Night Dive didn't want to pay ScummVM, and instead got their own people to reverse engineer Blade Runner from scratch, and the then remaster it, and the end result is buggier, has awful visuals, and what QoL additions it does add are not enough. They also failed to credit ScummVM for the subtitles they included. This whole thing is an incompetent shitshow caused by Stephen Kick I think his name is refusing to pay ScummVM to use their work.

To rub salt into the wound, you can't buy the ScummVM version on GOG anymore. It's included as a free addition if you buy Night Dive's broken remaster.

Kek engine

Now, hear this: it doesn't have mouse support.

>Now, hear this: it doesn't have mouse support.
Yes it does.

>worked with GOG to release the game on GOG.
Ah yes, after releasing it free on their own website like every other game they work on they decided to make a pittance by "working with GoG" to sell it to the guillible masses.

Bullshit.

>Ah yes, after releasing it free on their own website like every other game they work on they decided to make a pittance by "working with GoG" to sell it to the guillible masses.
The ScummVM team don't get money from that release. GOG licensed Blade Runner from the company that owns Blade Runner, and then used ScummVM's work.

>after releasing it free on their own website like every other game they work on
What are you talking about? ScummVM never released Blade Runner. They created an engine re-implementation. You'd still have to provide the OG Blade Runner files yourself. GOG purchased a license to sell Blade Runner games, and used ScummVM's engine to do it. How is it possible to be this wrong, user?

This seems an appropriate thread to ask
Redpill me on Bladerunner series, I've been interested in watching Bladerunner 2047 movie for a while but I don't know anything about the series other than the fact the reaction images, gifs and WEBMs that constantly getting posted on this site are from 2047 movie
What movies, shows and games I should finish before watching Blade Runner 2047?

newfag get out

They managed it with Blood and a few other games they lacked the source to. Kinda wonder if they outsourced this one.
That being said their Blood port is still fucked.

Holy shit. That's some mk1 looking ass stuff

Watch Blade Runner Final Cut.
Watch Soldier by Paul W.S. Anderson (Blade Runner spinoff, very kino).
Then watch Blade Runner 2049 and repeatedly say, "I recognize the thing!" when you spot references to Soldier in it.

Watch the first movie. Watch 2047 after. That's it. Not hard to figure out.

????
just watch the movies, retard.
there's 2.
watch them you fucking mcu addict cinematic universe tard

just a reminder that the gog version is still here.

abandon all notions of piracy morality. save it out of a sense of software preservation.

is this a new game? this looks like 90s shit and not in a good way for th most part

Did they went public or something? When the quality is that bad why would you push it out before ironing out all the problems

It's a bad remaster of a 90s adventure game.

You aren't fucking special. You may trick yourself into thinking that the world revolves around you, but sooner or later reality is going to catch up with you and shatter that illusion. You now have a choice. Do you do the right thing anyway? Despite being just an average joe? You can still get it done, but doing the right thing won't change where your life is headed. Your life is hurtling towards a cliff. The whole planet earth is fucked up and getting worse. Technology and society is spiraling out of control, if it hasn't burnt out already, it'll blowout.

The only thing you can control is this last choice. Do you do the right thing?

In this case the right thing is watching the original Blade Runner and then 2047 in a double header with a small break and the understanding that they are both long and real films that aren't going to hold your hand and probably won't fully understand the first time after watching. If you are a marvel loving zoomer you will hate them. Then you can watch/play/read the peripherals if you are still interested.

Don't fucking watch it just to try to understand meme images on the internet.

It's a remaster from a company that specialises on remastering games from the 90s (recent Quake remaster for example) that turned out to be a disaster

>2047

Nah, he should watch the first in a Saturday and the sequel in the next
Also, you didn't even tell him the right version to watch
