So is this worth playing if I intend to never spend any money on it?

No.

it's like going to a casino and expecting to spend nothing

Make burner accounts to use those first quick and free 50ish rolls on and try to get a character you'd actually want then play the game normally.

You can enjoy it, I've been a f2p since the game came out basically. HOWEVER, I think at this point it does not have any system in place to make the story and grind a bit more bearable for newcomers to catch up with the story, areas and banners in any meaningful way.

Say you pull shinobu, you would have to play a long time to be able to get materials from bosses to lever her up past 40.

Sure, there's not really a need to use the gacha
EXCEPT for the autism abyss grind. Don't even bother with it.

New player here (Coming up on two weeks). You have to rush for the events. I had to bumrush all of Liyue and the Chasm (Using the interactive map to make sure I could have a high enough leveled Lumenstone Adjuvant for story content) just to do Perilous Trail in time. Even rushing it (Because I spent like eight days playing without a care just having fun) I just barely made it in time to get the Fading Twilight + upgrades for it.

Leveling the characters is only bad if you draw Inazuma ones. I drew Yelan specifically and getting her mats wasn't bad because by the time I was 50 which I think was when gears are needed I was already throwing myself at the Chasm anyway which had the Ruin Serpent mats.

yes

Posting this for the user in a previous thread a few hours ago who asked for my EM Yae Miko build.
I have to apologize I kind of exaggerated the 10k per tick thing but this is still pretty good imo.

Posting this because it's cute

Build:
R4 widsith
4pc EoSF EM/ATK%/EM
4/9/8 talent

In my defence the plume sucks ass in terms of substats, so I can cram way more crits and atk, also intend on double crowning her, there is room for improvement.
Works in abyss fine.

Sure. It's a fun BotW knockoff with cute anime characters. Even if you have terrible luck with the gacha you could easily clear the whole thing with just free characters, so whatever you manage to get from the gacha is just a bonus.

>4pc EoSF EM/ATK%/EM
the fuck

It's not worth playing at all.

you have around 3 months of content, then it's dailly quests

I want her to land on my dick...with her little ass

only up to the latest story chapter, which should be like 40-50 hours including character quests.
that's a pretty good deal for a free game

What?

No. It's repetitive garbage like any gacha. You only play it if you like the girls and pretend to have fun.

are you unironically mentally retarded?

No, I don't think so. You sound gay.

I was a day one player and finally quit months agai (i think 2.0 or 2.2 around there) and that's because I HAD to log in everyday to never feel like missed out. FOMO is no fucking joke in this piece of shit
>B-BUT TAKE YOUR LE TIME DAILIES ARE ONLY LE 15 MINUTES
Yeah and grinding mats for the new characters, mats for other bullshit, and killing the same worthless easy to kill enemies over and over again to upgrade shit. Not to mention events that have fucking long ass dialogue sections you can't fucking skip and you HAVE TO do that event every day until it's almost over just to not miss out on good shit. I wasn't F2P but even I experienced losing a 50/50. For a F2P, losing a 50/50 is soulcrushing. Avoid this garbage like the plague.

>quit a year ago
>still seething

>losing a 50/50 is soulcrushing
Bro you're just weak.

Only for the initial 40-50 hours of exploring. Adventure Rank (basically account level) is your biggest gate preventing you from progressing. It's in the story, certain quests, events, acquiring good artifacts which make up the bulk of your stats, and accessing new areas beyond Liyue and Mondstadt.

Once you feel satisfied, put the game down and pick it up whenever an interesting event or new area gets added.

Some characters have boss materials in other regions. Shenhe, a Liyue character, uses mats from a boss in Enkanomiya, a hidden area in Inazuma. It can sometimes be a toss-up on what characters require.

Why are genshin players such cultists? You can't say anything bad if you're new, you can't say anything bad if you quit, you can't say anything bad if you're still playing, it's weird.
Maybe he just saw this thread and wanted to give his two cents, instead of whatever schizo boogeyman you have in your head

I'm baiting a sperg, take it personal.

I see. I thought it was mainly region-based more than anything.
