cloud is a vampire! no wonder he looks like a faggot

that gay ass sword though

this is the power of playstation 4 holding back a masterpiece*

You can't put a mirror reflection in an advertisement and expect it to sell copies.
Every single ounce of effort that goes into a game is guided in such a way as to maximize curb appeal and maximum sales / monetization. The sooner you come to terms with this, the sooner you can move on with your life and find a real hobby, like anime.

shut the fuck up

I like mirrors in video games. Someone explain how they tech work in MGS2 please.

Didn't the fix the door and mirror on intergrade on PS5? Or was that just the door.

Usually in older games they had 2 environments models and 2 player characters in rooms with mirrors

Workin mirrors in every non-raytraced game is just a window to second room with your character clone. Game is basically rendering two scenes which is in most cases absolutely horrible for optimization.

Like all "tech", it is solved by clever tricks and deceptions.

>which is in most cases absolutely horrible for optimization.
The game runs 60 fps on PS2 even in rooms with mirrors. It is a technical marvel to behold.

It's called "Render to Texture." You're rendering everything twice from the two angles and using one of the rendered scenes as a texture in the other.

Your first sentence is wrong though.
What if the game has skyscrapers reflecting the world, demonstrating the power of accurate rendering or a special mirror that blends well with gameplay? (Reflections show you clues or invisible enemies, etc)

People wonder why we don't have splitscreen multiplayer.
The AAA Jew has convinced you it's because people don't want to play with their friends.
It's because they can't put two screens on one TV without making their shitbox explode.

i want reflections in games again desu...

lol

>nomura game
>masterpiece
hahahaahahahaaahahaahahaahaahahaah

Jet Force Gemini was one of the best TPS games ever. Especially the soundrack and -design was awesome.

>this is the power of the PlayStation 5
Did they change it for the PC release?

What other 3rd person shooters existed in 1999? Can't really think about many, i guess Duke nukem zero hour would be one.

Screen space reflections are everywhere in games. But that won't work for a mirror. You'd see the back of the character's head in the mirror.

I am compiling a list of criticisms people have about FFVIIR which are no longer valid. If you see posts containing the following red-flags then respond with this list and move on.
>any criticism that involves Nomura
>any comparison of Remake to Kingdom Hearts
>"Time Jannies"
>"Filler"
>textures/NPCs/"the bathroom sink looks bad"
Any additions or suggestions I am open to.

The game is doing very well on steam thats all you need to know obsessed fag

Yeah you are right it is much better to just do half res real time reflections that are rendered at half frame rate. Much more optimized vs same res cube maps and duplicated rooms that use the same textures and models that are already loaded and do not impact performance whatsoever.

MDK, Giants Citizen Kabuto, lots of other weird stuff on PC.

Control has complex arbitrary-geometry realtime reflections without raytracing. A small room like the one in the OP picture has no excuse not to have a literal planar reflection since you can use such heavy culling that the system ignores everything that exists more than 5 meters away. It doesn't even need a fake double mesh reflection like in MGS2. Planar render texture reflections were already in Max Payne 2 in 2003.
...though obviously much more impressive mirrors have been in modern games. Now, nobody go and post a webm of the breakable mirrors in Hitman. It'll just embarrass this AAA Square Enix game. Ironically, embarrassed by a former Square Enix game.

It flopped.

WTF is a Kabuto?

Dead Rising 1&2 had reflections in the bathroom mirrors but the reflection was kinda pixelated, what method is that?
>nobody go and post a webm of the breakable mirrors in Hitman
someone please post

ffvii remake might be the best game i ever played

but pc master race fags eat it up. those fags always flame against consoles, but as soon as a playstation game comes to pc. they go apeshit for it like mad fangirls.
