I like the XB1 ans XB2 style tho

Im playing Valkirya Revolution and I like it for what it is. A new more traditional entry in the series is at the forefront and I finally felt like I could come back to this one and give it a fair shake.

Is it different? Yes? Does it deserve the franchise name? Probably Not. Am I having fun and am I enjoying the story? Yes.

First off all you have to get over the fact that your anime squad can just face tank bullets just because. The hack and slash action is fun. The cutscenes are a bit stiff and the majority of them just use the in game animations sorta like a World of Warcraft machinima video. The plot didnt immediately hook me at first and there is a lot of political drama talking scenes that could go into the 30mins range, but after a while as I grew more attached the story and characters I started to enjoy them. Im about 3/4ths of the way through and im really looking forward to see how the story finishes. I never get tired of seeing the princess dump a 30 round mag into an enemy.

When i got to the half way point of the game the achivement for beating that chapter popped up. I checked the ration of players that completed up to that far in the game at it was at 3%.... i mean i believe it but its just sad. Theres definately some soul under the jank and stigma. Its not MGRevengeance different good buts it fun romp after you played all the other VC games

Why do people think it's bad again? I like the first VCronicles and I do have an Xbox so I might pick it next sale.

The severe change in gameplay. Goes from Strategic Turn based game into a semi turn based game that plays sorta like a mousu with the amount of enemies you clobber with melee weapons and skills and magic. The original series didnt have swords and sorcery and the vechiles in VRevoluion are bipedal mechs or spiders. Tech that is way advanced for having taken place 50 years before VC1. Also if my memory serves, when reviwers on youtube first got thier hands on the game, the first cutscene is done in that machinma method i was talking about and at that very moment no one wanted to give it a chance. Ill try to get a webm of the princess dumping a 30round mag, give me a moment
