Oh ok, so two timeskips with Clive. Damn.

>independent area-based game design
>not open world
Good. Hubs > Open world

>OPEN WORLD BAD!!!!
Loving all the meaningless reddit pandering of this guy. I mean, it makes sense considering all these great non-open world RPGs such as...

...

I like everything, its time to make big changes to the series, i dont want to switch characters mid fight..its weird, all action rpgs should be single character only for with AI.

Separated zones always offer tighter gameplay, which is why ff15’s combat was garbage.

>will be "a complete experience" at launch
lol the ff15 shade ouch

Kingdom hearts series
Final fantasy series
Basically every other jrpg.

And then you have
>ffxv
Which is horrible because tabata wanted open world

FF was never open world, and no the world map with small models is not open world.

Just give it a different IP already, there hasn't been a Final Fantasy since X

yoshit piss made the worst game

>no plans for dlc
so they already know it's going to flop

He just wants to prove he can make a better FF than the rest of the clowns at squeenix

As long as there's a world map I don't mind. JRPGs getting rid of world maps is a fucking crime.

Yoshida pretty much lowkey rips on FF15 during the interviews, so it's pretty clear that he probably didn't like how the game was released, half-baked, and then tried to fix shit with DLC.

north america vs. australia

Maybe world map was the wrong word for it, I mean this part. Where you actually go around the world and they hide some cool shit like hidden villages or secret dungeons.

>Creative Business Unit III chose a medieval fantasy style theme for Final Fantasy XVI becasue much of its core members, including Yoshida, simply enjoyed that style the most.
A bunch of hacks with shit taste who banded together to make regressive luddite fantasy. The franchise is dead. Dead.

Nah, overworld isn't coming back, that shit just existed because of technical limitations.

I'm sure we'll get the usual DLC costumes and nostalgiabait weapons

i hope its more focused than ff15 was for me i felt pulled in so many directions as soon as you finish chapter 3 almost 90% of the game becomes available to you and its just too much of a sensory overload
hope its more structured like x and xiii

Maybe the dumbfuck suits shouldn't have impulsively taken a PS5 moneyhat. Even Sony already stopped doing that shit to their own games after like half a year. also interesting that they're seemingly the ONLY third-party to have taken PS5 exclusivity deals, even if just timed. Just what the hell did the rest of the industry know/suspect before the PS5 even came out?

If your entire world is a Hawaii Island then maybe open world is good.
Yoshida want to make a FF world cover entire planet so FF12 style is better

>needed the kh3 team and dmc combat director to do the combat

Sounds like it will be good.

If they could still pull it off on the xbox 360 and hide some cool shit in there then I don't see a reason why they couldn't on the current gen consoles. Even DQ11 had it when you went on ship.

Looks promising so far.

We're still getting our ancient high tech civilizations, like every other medieval FF senpai

Us this game releasing on PC or not?

Probably like most FF games these days a few years after release.

Only FF13 and 15 were released in such a woefully incomplete state that they needed sequels/DLC to actually give the player a complete experience. This will just be a return to form.

It works with that art style, not with the XVI artstyle.

2024 for Epic Game Store. 2025 for Steam

>Hehe action rpg guys
Fuck this shit

Open World is bad for JRPGs because it severely limits how big the world feels which kills the sense of adventure and progression. Open Zones are the way to go for JRPGs because then they can still do varied setting designs, scope of the world feels larger and there is still a sense of the party moving through the world.

They knew Xbox was going to sell well this gen m, so it would be dumb to take a money hat

>the game will be a complete experience at launch

Thank you for this.

I don't see why not. FF8 had a more realistic art style compared to the others and they could still pull off an overworld.

When are the next riots so I can steal a PS5 from Walmart.

>They knew Xbox was going to sell well this gen
PS5 has sold double of what the new xbox has THOUGH
