Is the Mario and Luigi franchise fucked forever without AlphaDream?
Is the Mario and Luigi franchise fucked forever without AlphaDream?
>Is the Mario and Luigi franchise fucked forever without AlphaDream?
Yes.
Probably, but that's a good thing because it was never good to begin with.
The first three games were great
Yeah, but maybe that means they’ll finally fix paper Mario or make a proper Mario RPG sequel. Origami King was a step in the right direction.
The soul begun to drain at Dream Team anyways, the series went into soulless Mario mandate territory after Dream Team and it would've been better if Paper Jam and BiT DX weren't released.
Where did the Alpha Dream employees go after they closed?
Fuck you Nintendo for letting them die.
to their home probably
>they’ll finally fix paper Mario
The formula was milked dry. Let it die.
Listen man I don't know if you come to every Mario RPG thread or are just parroting an opinion but I swear I have read this same post two dozen times. Origami King being a "step in the right direction" says more about how bad Sticker Star was than anything relating to TOK, and a sequel to TOK that takes another "step in the right direction" still won't save the franchise nor will even be worth playing.
What if we went back to basics? But instead of one button controlling Mario or Luigi its one joycon?
No just give it to intelligent systems and they'll bring back the SOVL
probably, I've made my peace with it. The only thing I can hope for now is that they make a new mario rpg series one day, some kind of spiritual successor.
>that means they’ll finally fix paper Mario
IS doesn't to make paper mario an RPG series again. period. anything else that you hear in interviews or any conspiracies you hear from fans is straight bullshit. Mario & Luigi never was preventing them from "fixing" it. They just don't want to make the games that way anymore.
Which studio is up to the task to make a proper Mario RPG now besides IS?
Shut up papertranny. Dont you havea schizo mandate collage to be making for reddit?
I mean it was fucked with AlphaDream. 4 really dragged on, 5 to me felt unfocused, and the remakes definitely felt phoned in. I guess SS remake wasn't bad, but it wasn't a new game.
I feel like Nintendo thinks they don't need Mario RPGs anymore, and I don't see them doing anything other than a Paper Mario port/remake and maaaaybe SMRPG sequel/reboot just for easy nostalgia/legacy cash in.
I wouldn't say never, but I really doubt Nintendo is going to invest in another developer to continue this series. It was successful, but the last few releases were suffering from a steep drop in sales. They likely saw it as time to pull out.
Nintendo can buy the IP from under them then make the series even more shit
checked a couple of the big name ones. half of them haven't been credited in anything since AlphaDream closed. The other half seemed to have moved on to Mistwalker, the developer of Lost Odyssey on the 360.
Guess they decided to go back under Sakaguchi.
