I landed a decent job, allowing me to play all the games I feel like I "missed out" on. Always been a fan of MMOs and played WoW on and off between 2006 and 2016.
>decide to look back into it >Horde and Alliance barely at war anymore because everybody loves everybody now >both factions have copypasted coomer races from the enemy >[A] has "evil" blood elves >[H] has "evil" night elves >[A] also has fat humans, evil dwarves and diaper wearing cyber gnomes >[H] also has brown orcs, wakanda trolls and tauren with deer antlers >orcs can stand up straight now
Oh well, what aboutt he game itse-
>even more fucking real money mounts and cosmetics >you now have to find the Chromie NPC in every major city to jump between "timelines" and select which one you want to play in on your sever >entire game has been split-instanced because blizzard couldn't tie up all the contradictory threads from their over the top bullshit stories into one cohesive world anymore, meaning players play on like different frequencies now on the same server >cities are fucking empty >artifact weapons that you have to level up >a... player fortress with mercenaries that I can level up? >covenants? meaning NPC clans that give my characters special PvP/PvE abilities if I grind enough honor >everything is instanced >PvP is dead >PvE guilds are either carebears that dont raid at all or absolute nolifers that demand 30+ yrs of WoW experience, 600k gear score and what not >powertripping losers and beta coomers still make up like 15% of every guild >blizz WoW forums are useless to get in touch with the community because they're boot licking morons with too much time of their lives invested into this game already
All I wanted to do is be a dwarven warrior who tanks monsters and does PvP.
To those of you who still play WoW, how hard is it to get back into the game and find enjoyable semi-normies for 30yr old boomers like myself to play with?
This, level one character from 1 to 60, uninstall immediately after.
Parker Howard
No. You're more than a decade late.
Henry Morgan
Classic or a private server is the way to go. Retail is a mess, even if you go F2P Starter Account and run everything at level 20.
Brody Davis
PvE meta largely revolves around wow-token-gold since like WoD. >Whales use $ to buy gold for raid or dungeon carries. >Raiders earn gold to trade for sub-time. You're either one or the other.
Cooper Powell
Yes you pretty much nailed what the game is like now. Basically filled with hardened hatred and anti-white male Christian boomer stuff everywhere, and demonrats, hence the new races are divisive towards their own race. They are so faggoty that they can’t even properly play a Tauren as a cow. It has to be a stag now. Honyockers.
James Martin
By classic you mean the Burning Crusade? Because I've gotten kinda confused about the different versions available, there is Classic, TBC and retail. What is going to happen when "classic" progresses to Wrath of the Lich King, will there be 3 different classic versions + 1 retail version?
I've always had an aversion against private servers because I kinda expect the admins to hand out freebies and preferential treatments to certain players. Not sure if that's still the case.
What other MMOs would you recommend then? I started with Dark Age of Camelot back in 2002 iirc, that's kinda been the best thing I've played in that genre.
no, bad touch, stay away, ra-- Srsly tho, if you'd never play before then the above sticks for real, like HELL NO. when you did and get insuffereable itch then you go play a private most fitting to your tastes. /thread
Brody Sanders
>Is World of Warcraft still worth it in 2022?
Not really, the peak came and went over a decade ago and along with it the majority of it's best players and community. So much "enjoyment" of the game right now is contingent on how luck you are with other players, your ability to tolerate utter greed and how much time you're willing to sink into a void-like world from scratch sadly.
Joseph Williams
Stop giving Blizzard time and money. Let them die painfully.
Juan Richardson
Rift. The Secret World. Age of Conan. Neverwinter. But if you are searching for populated MMO's, then you must go for the main ones GW2 ESO FFXIV and eventually WoW, liking or not.
Jack Hughes
If it's just an itch you want to scratch, you can boot up your same blizz account and play F2P retail up to level 20.
Landon Turner
>Rift. On life support and will probably die soon. >Neverwinter Fun gameplay and great lore but is obnoxiously p2w.
Asher Flores
Rift won't die because of whales who pay for it, will just stand on this limbo forever.
Levi Nelson
you seem like a giga normie so I will let you know that WoW is basically dead in 2022 and only played by people who are no longer normies like you but are using it as a escapism mechanism which is why the game is plagued with tons of degenerate ERP and people on the spectrum.
Luis Evans
classic wow was such a disappointing and bad experience it caused me to stop being a neet and get a job
Tyler Gonzalez
>you seem like a giga normie
Well I still spend most of my free time in front of my computer, it's just that I've gotten older and don't know any games that are fun anymore. Just feels strange to believe that only tryhards still play WoW when 16 years ago (oh god) I had so much fun with the game.
Justin Bell
Just play turtle wow, user. It's a private server that is classic with some new content. It has a modest but active community, but it's pretty neat.
classic wow was such a great and beautiful experience it caused me to quit my job and ive been a neet ever since
Cooper Nelson
Find a private server you like or play FFXIV, don't listen to sweaty nerds I've played them both extensively (Huge fucking waste of time) and XIV takes the good and leaves the bad. Don't bother with anything still managed by Blizzard in 2022.
