OMG RE4 is not....RESIDENT EVIL!!!

>OMG RE4 is not....RESIDENT EVIL!!!

Is there are shittier zoomer revisionist meme? Go back and play the original 1-2-3 and Code Veronica and tell me RE4 doesn't feel like a completely natural evolution after those games. The series had progressively gotten to be more action and more over the top before RE4, RE4 just naturally evolved with the new camera. The tank controls are still there, the inventory management is still there, it still has the atmosphere and plenty of tense encounters. Yes it was more action focused, but it felt like going from Alien to Aliens; it was a justified shift that made sense at the time.

No, I didn't play anything after 6
You probably think that RE7 was the first RE game that plays in first person.

Yet zoomers loved it when RE8 did it.

I mean chapters 1 and 2 feel like Resident Evil, but then you get inside the castle and it turns into comedy. Then you get to the island and now it's just a full blown third person shooter power fantasy.

>spics
They're spaniards

>zoomers
my point exactly

they're mexicans, at least they speak mexican, which is in south america

Wow, you're such a epic hardcore RE fan for knowing about the gun survivor series, now tell me about how RE1 was originally meant to be first person as well.

>series about puzzle based level progression and back tracking to explore previously locked areas
>remove that and make it a linear action shooter
natural evolution, sure.

And you are epic hardcore player who forgot to mention Zero in opening post.

It's in an unnamed village located in a mountainous and rural area of Spain, user...

RE4 is nowhere near as linear as people make it out to be and the original trilogy is nowhere near as non-linear as people make it out be.

Zero deserves to be forgotten.

Fuck off, nostalgiafag. RE4 is trash and always has been.

>series about puzzle based level progression and back tracking to explore previously locked areas
This was mostly an RE1 thing, it was toned down in 2 and 3.

can you rephrase that into a concrete statement? because the only way to engage with it, as it is, is saying you're both right and wrong followed by a list of possible paths to take in the classics and show that there really is only one path for RE4. yes, you can explore the rather large open zones in RE4 if you want to but the path is always the same linear one. you can't go first outside, pic up the herbicide, and the key from the clock or go straight upstairs and grab the bazooka from forest or the blue gem from the statue above the dining room. and i refuse to type up even more possible ways for the other 2 games just to prove you wrong.

retard, it's neither RE4 or RESIDENT EVIL, it's says "4 resident evil" right there

>RE4 is nowhere near as linear as people make it out to be
true, some sections were not linear
>original trilogy is nowhere near as non-linear as people make it out be.
false

>3rd best RE
>deserves to be forgotten
Bro...

RE4 was your first RE game so your opinion doesn’t matter, eat shit

It was the gamecube version of RE2 but cope harder I guess.

As someone who began with the original RE back then, stop being a fag
