What is the lore behind this character?
Lost ark. Although I live in iran and can't play anymore because chang and his band of chinks made ags block all IPs that are suspected of using VPNs. The game was fucking amazing tho
obnoxious e-celeb clout follower
Throne and Liberty
FFXIV
The dancing goblino that broke WoWtrannies.
when one of the biggest blizzard shills found WoW so dogshit that he stopped being a shill and streamed FFXIV, he liked XIV and the community so much that he uninstalled everything that had something to do with blizzard live on stream while ingame this character did that dance amongst dozens of players around him
kinda based desu
I'd play xiv if it wasn't for the cultish behavior of the playerbase
eve
Mabinogi, comfiest mmo ever played after Maplestory, but maple story died

gw2
while XIV & OSRS have their strengths, GW2 excels at comfy. It's the best at giving you a world to explore
i want to have sex with highlander women.
You played MS2? That shit was super comfy during the beta or alpha or whatever it was called
then it came out & nobody played it because everyone already played it during the beta lmao
Isn't it a grindfest tho?
I’ve been playing a bunch of dragon quest x trial lately, ver 1.0 is definitely super dated and doesn’t hold your hand but there’s a massive jump in convenience once you get to the first expansion
yes you have to use two tools in tandem to play it mostly bug free in English but I love it bros
>It's the best at giving you a world to explore
I'm sold.
Devs should focus more on world exploration and less fetch quests and grind.
a fun one
It got better after 2021.
idk how things exactly are on Any Forums but the influx of new players actually put fresh perspectives in the game, and made a lot of people think more critically about it. Things such as job design getting impressively bad, obvious favoritism from devs, races like Hrothgar and Viera still being scuffed or treated as a joke from the devs, rampant cheating, housing fiascos, Endwalker story not being as good as Shadowbringers for a lot of people etc. made players realize XIV isn't the second coming of Christ.
You still get some nutcases who believe yoshiP is their best friend, but they've been reduced to an extreme minority and the community at large doesn't take them seriously now that a lot of peoples goodwill has been exhausted.
Even after I trashtalked the game quite a bit I think its very much worth giving a try if you're looking for a new MMO with a nice story, in fact if things keep going in the direction they're headed it'll be the last good expansion to try out things like endgame content.
GW2 is peak comfy if you just want a cool theme park
bonus soundtrack ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q9OwL6c3QI
with shit like vistas and the living world event system, GW2 was the first MMO that really made me feel like things were happening in the world that weren't just like "events" the devs implemented for a new expansion or whatever.
Runescape's quests are kind of similar I guess, but they're so sectioned off that they feel more like a "block of content" since there's no real interaction with the world & you don't "notice" the quest unless you're doing it.
In GW2 some little village might get raided by goblins and if they're not fought off, the village's food supplies will get stolen so they need to send out some expedition to gather new food and then you can help that expedition and if that hunting expedition also fails they might go pick berries and ask you to help out.
>Endwalker story not being as good as Shadowbringers for a lot of people etc.
if you expected it to beat shadowbringers you're mentally challenged
literally anyone could have told you it wasn't going to be as good, but that's not really their fault. You can't fault them for making something TOO GOOD
yeah the problem with that is that once u explore the world there is nothing to do
it's worth playing it once just for that though, no mmo does world exploration better than gw2
I know, I know, personally I still enjoyed it, but if you look at the forums or threads around Any Forums and such a bunch of people are displeased like they haven't been since stormblood, that's just the state of things.
Would you say that GW2 is a modern RS?
get out blue haired witch!
not in the slightest
they're completely different
GW2 is its own thing & doesn't try to be anything else
it doesn't even try to be GW 2, to the anger of a lot of older GW players but I didn't mind it too much
