I have a PS4 development build of Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart
I'm figuring out how to share it right now, I got this off of a development system I bought. This is a development build of the game.
Some sections like the introduction play perfectly fine, the "SSD Required" segments are completely scripted. The Lighting is similar to the option without Ray Tracing on PS5. The game uses lower quality models and Ratchet uses downgraded version of his model without the real fur that we see on PS5. Rivet is the same. Of the levels I can play I can say for a fact some of the SSD talk was mostly fluff.
This build weighs in at around 72~gb and is incomplete from the final game and has a couple differences from what I have seen previously.
My guess is that they showed it off at the PS4 event and eventually decided to scrap the PS4 version to launch the PS5 version quicker. Think about Stray as an example of Mike's Morales. At first it was shown off as PS5 only and than got a PS4 port. It's likely the reverse for Rift Apart.
Thanks to internal development tools I was also able to benchmark the build.
The FPS counter keeps 30 most of the time. Drops to the high 20s sometimes. I can uncap the games framerate, but it usually sticks to about 32-33 and doesn't stray to far away from the target. During a Clank section it jumped to the 40s to 60 with fluctuation based on the puzzle. The lighting and other effects on the Clank section we're not final yet.
Also this was a PS4 Pro development kit and I dunno if it has a PS4 mode, but the internal resolution for this game was low. The game has a dynamic resolution scaler and the max it hit on PS4 was 1350p and as low as 792p. Another high was 1296p, but it was very close to 1080p most of the time. When unlocking the framerate DRS would turn off and the game would stick to a solid 1080p.
I'm not too keen on how their tools work or what all the monitoring stuff means, but at least I can read the FPS and Resolution counters.
I'm not sure how to share this or if I can even showcase this in a video yet, but I'm asking and reaching out to some people for help.
Tl;Dr Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart was entirely possible on PS4

so you're not going to show any kind of proof I guess
it's late and I'm bored so I'll bite
the best place you can upload it is archive.org I think, just don't say it's a leaked Sony game for obvious reasons
that or upload it to your personal cloud if you got one
I did purchase this dev kit, but I know it's very not legal to own one. A buddy of mine who does YouTube is coming over with his laptop and Elgato and we are going to play through this whole build and record it so that we have proof it exists. I don't want to risk anything till tomorrow because I don't want the dev kit banned.

most people probably won't care at the technical aspects of a game that's not even that popular, the best you can do is upload it to some ISO repository so other people can download and play it in there hacked PS4s
it will be a nice piece of gaming history
how? ebay? I thought devs were supposed to return it to Sony after they're done with it
if you're going to stream it you can just say it's the ps5 version and it'll be fine, what's your channel?
Omoshiroi OP. Even if you were full of shit, it's obvious Rift Apart doesn't do anything PS5-worthy outside of raytracing and the amazing grafics. Same physics as the PS4 remake, same amount of enemies on screen, same noninteractive environment (what was the last game where you actually could blow up shit? UYA?). Maybe the rift sections wouldn't have had seamless transitions, maybe Savali would have had a bit more pop-in, but honestly who cares.

I'm recording the whole playthrough and I don't have a YouTube channel, but I'll probably make one to archive the whole video of Rift Apart.
I am not a video game collector, but I have a degree in Cyber Security and a bit of a coding background. While I was at a bar while shooting the shit I eventually went a guy who added me on Snapchat who then got me in contact with other people and eventually after awhile I got an opportunity to buy a PS4 devkit and I couldn't resist the offer. I bought it with the thought that I could use it to exploit the shit out of it and the actual system, but I found Rift Apart PS4 as well.
That being said I am still very skeptical on the legally of this especially cause I am in possession of a version of a video game that isn't supposed to exist and I know sharing it will be a bit of a hassle.

Torrent it. I'm sure people here have hacked ps4s.

the rift sections weren't even that seamless on PS5, there's still a loading screen disguised as a cutscene
what's true is that the PS4's HDD is a slow piece of shit and that NVMe are way faster than that
how long are the loading screens during the rift sections, OP?
just don't connect the dev kit to the internet and you'll be fine I guess
videogame prototypes, betas and alphas have been always subject of leaking, hell the alpha of duke nukem forever just got leaked some weeks ago
The loadtimes we're about the same as they were in the intro. Less stuff was happening on screen and the graphics, especially the glass were scaled back. The framerate also tanked during those sections. Gameplay was 28-30, going through rifts dropped to about 15-18 for each transition. It was so quick I couldn't notice any pop in.
In Nefarious City during the boss fight when you get sent to Savali temporarily the Rift didn't take too much of a bit, but that area was definitely pre loaded in memory.
After the load times from switching planets was just a generic screen that took about a minute in between each one.
>I did purchase this dev kit Stop writing bullshit you colossal mongoloid, PS5 devkits are tied to an id that must be authenticated regularly every 48 hours, if the check fails the console doesn't even complete the boot and shuts down, prompting you to contact the on-screen number and report the error code. Post the devkit with a timestamp or GTFO, you larper tourist
you telling me the Power of the SSD™ was just a marketing hoax? PS5 bros..... we lost
he bought a PS4 devkit you retard
by the way, in the case you don't know how Any Forums works, this thread is probably going to be closed after it reaches the last page, you should make a discord server or some shit like that to keep track of your findings
I'll make a new thread once I have the footage on YouTube. After some rational you are right and uploading a Soft Apart walkthrough on PS4 wouldn't be a bad thing at all as it's just a beta build.
I'm pretty schizo about the devkit thing still. I'll include it in the next thread most likely tomorrow or the day after. I just don't want anything to link the debit to me or get it banned + it's dark rn and I don't wanna get out of bed, it's cozy.

k well talk is cheap so until actual evidence shows up I'll assume you are making it up. Best evidence there is though is to rip it if you can. They can't do anything if its leaked out already.
I'll record a whole walkthrough. I also need to still dump the files. I know somehow with PS4 hacking experience who also offered to help recover the game on his next day off. I can promise footage in a day or two, but I can't say for certain when I can upload the game files.
You are right, this shouldn't be too difficult to run on a hacked PS4, it just might need minor tweaks. I'm completely new to the PS4 scene by the way, so sorry for the lack of confidence in it.
For context I had a PS3, skipped the PS4 for the Xbone than bought a PS5. The only Sony system I had and hacked was a PSP.

I love kittens so much bros... they're so cute and fluffy
