Was it really that bad? No shitposting please
Anthony Barnes
Juan Sanchez
It's one of the only good #'d FFs.
Jayden Clark
FF15 it's the best Final Fantasy game released by Square since FF9
And I say this as a longtime fan of the franchise
Hunter Thomas
playing this on release was kind of fucked since it was literally unfinished, but nowadays it's probably the best modern FF
Benjamin Campbell
this
the quality dipped so much after the events of altissia but after a few patches and DLC it's pretty good now
Charles Robinson
>it's good after the DLC + patches
but is it worth playing just for those patches?
Josiah White
Yes
Final Fantasy 15 is worth it
Aaron Foster
Yes. The game first shipped without the final dungeon that is there now.
Benjamin Smith
Yeah. Even Chapter 13 is actually tolerable now just because of the meme ring
Ethan Carter
It was, all over the place. It’s good, but there was no vision for it to be called kino. It’s simply an incomplete game
Jeremiah Long
Played it through years after release. Was really good and I liked it. I have played FFs since my childhood in the 90s. Don’t expect anything like the old games
Angel Price
Yes. The game is incomplete and makes logical leaps that expect you to consume subsequent media to understand. It's a fucking embarrassment
Ayden Davis
It wasn't a bad game it just literally wasn't finished.
The segment right before the Malboro fight was soul crushing to see. Legitimately depressing to look out and see so much drivable world and roads just flat out cut from the game.
Eli Perez
It's actually a great Final Fantasy game
After all
Ryder Lopez
>Final tower
>just take the elevator up
I was actually insulted.
Julian Rogers
it's fine (now, as other anons said, actually quite bad on release). was just the combination of a grossly unfinished launch and the high expectations of the game. at least, if you go into it thinking it's gonna be a shit game, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Daniel Wood
>split story between an anime, cg movie, base game, indie game, and several DLC episodes
>make open world with only 1 city in it
>kill off love interest before she gets any development
>railroad through clearly half finished content
>reuse same enemy designs repeatedly for "unique" bounties
>restrain main transportation to rails that can run out of gas
>hold square to attack
>3 magic spells
>context sensitive summons you may never see
>horrid camera that zooms out to infinity for large bosses rendering your actual character too small to see
>impossible to die
>can't control party members but in charge of healing them
>Chapter 13 being a solo Hallway Simulator
>rush ending and show nothing of the world 10 years later
>forced into empty city for the ending
>only one secret boss
Yeah it really was that bad.
Jaxon Mitchell
>people claiming it's "fine"
The Royal edition is literally all bandaid fixes and patches to cover up the other major problems the game has. It's unironically below the FF13 trilogy because at least 13-2 and LR had overall good combat, soundtracks ,and visual design. FF15 is a fucking unfinished travesty.
Jacob Lopez
I played it when it came out on PC as my first final fantasy, I found it extremely disappointing.
Xavier Walker
Based
Final Fantasy 15 is easily my favorite Final Fantasy game
Noah Long
This. All those patches were irrelevant or just made the shittier parts easier to complete. It doesn't fix the rushed story or the mediocre gameplay.
Ayden Robinson
>context sensitive summons you may never see
not a bad thing. Ramuh is based as fuck.
Austin Smith
It was really lacking in customization. I still don't know if I thought the ads were funny or fucking stupid. The game seemed to have a lot of detail mid combat you might just never see if you figure out an efficient way to do things like spam warp strike. Also for some reason, the chapter 13 ring shit pissed me off, and I hated prompto so much that when his sympathetic fake existence plotline shit came up it just made me groan.
Jace Cruz
>split story between an anime, cg movie, base game, indie game, and several DLC episodes
And it's shit.
Isaiah Ross
Good:
>fun combat
>great dungeon design
>good enemy/boss variety
>lots of side content and postgame stuff to do
>good cast of party members with great chemistry
>cozy road trip with the bros atmosphere
Bad:
>second half of the story is straight up unfinished
>pretty much impossible to get a game over you just spam healing items until you win
>most of the world is pretty boring due to overeliance on photogrammetry for the assets
>traversing the world is tedious
>dlc gameplay is jank as hell and doesnt really improve the story
It's a shame the management over at square is so incompetent because despite the flaws if the game was finished properly it'd be undisputably one of the best jrpgs ever.
Lincoln Jones
It's pretty good. I just felt like it took too long to cover ground in the open world, and there wasn't quite enough to find.
I fucking hate the cup noodles side quest though. Cringe advertising at its worst.
Isaiah Fisher
it was good and way better than the previous entries after FF
Dominic Sanchez
The Final Fantasy 15 game has:
>Amazing gameplay
>amazing Lore
>Wonderful Openworld
>Godtier OST
>and great Characters
I genuinely loved it
Jayden Perez
I'm playing it right now and it's just kinda boring. I'm only on chapter 4, but it's the kind of game that makes me wish I was playing something else
Blake Sanders
>disjointed mess of a story, have to watch a movie, 4 anime episodes, read a book, play a demo to get the basics
>gameplay is hold circle and do square QTE
>empty open world
>whiny bitch main character
>party is just a fag, a nerd and muscle man with no depth whatsoever
>4 shit DLCs
>cancelled DLCs
>story still incomplete to this day
the music was good but that's about it
Levi Bennett
admitedelly, I didn't play Royal. I played and beat it on launch week and have no idea what the patches added. The whole game is just forgettable though. I'm not sure what patches could have done to make it better. The combat was boring too. Honestly, the most fun I had with the game was the fishing mini game
Evan Price
Forgot about mentioning the abysmal side quests like searching for frogs, or searching for dogtags, or searching for crystals, or searching for photo ops.
FFVIIR had legendary side quests comparatively
Aiden Cooper
It's getting better when you reach the most epic moments of the story.
Like the amazing ending.
One of the best of the Final Fantasy franchise
Jose Long
>the anime was... LE BAD!
everytime
Jaxson Howard
Ramuh is also the only one you'll ever see.
Jace Hernandez
how are people in this thread finding the story so hard to comprehend and follow? fucking brain rot on this board.
Isaac Lee
>it gets better at the end of the game.
Holy cope
Justin Hill
Holy shit they never ended, like half of FF15 is boring fetchquest shit and CUP NOODLES
Josiah Wilson
>FFVIIR had legendary side quests comparatively
yeah, at the very least most sidequests lead to fun fights
David Cooper
Because you need to consume 4 seperate mediums to actually understand it and even then it's not very good. No one is saying it was hard to follow, just shit.
Luis Thomas
The cross media XV Universe is an interesting experiment but ultimately failed.
It's an interesting case study for "what if we split up everything you'd usually find in the game in terms of story and character development and shoved it into a movie and an anime series". It doesn't quite work and it feels like there's far more media to consume to get the full product than you should have to. Supplementary material shouldn't be mandatory.
The game itself is alright. Better now than when it releases. Episodes Prompto and Ignis are actually great. The visuals are fantastic, the score is classic and the character work is top notch with a great voice cast.
The story sort of speeds up to ridiculous amounts in the games last third and really suffers for it. The gameplay isn't particularly deep and the memes are true but it's enjoyable enough.
Absolutely better than the 13 trilogy and more of a complete package, true to its FF roots than 7R.
tl;dr yeah it's alright
Luis Myers
Final Fantasy 15 is just a great Final Fantasy game.
Easily a 9/10 on my book
