Slightly better than the ONE X

>slightly better than the ONE X
explain why this console isn't holding the devs back

its gpu is 2 tflops worse than one x. thats almost 2 xbones

Because you can literally scale polycount foliage density draw distance and many other factors to accommodate this machine, it's not "holding" back anything anymore than a large majority running crusty PCs of similar or lesser hardware

It doesn't have a 2012 cpu like the one x does

it's much better than the mass amounts of 1060s floating around

graphics peaked in 2015, no need for extra processing power

fair enough, i always forget that the majority of GPU players are 1060 users

One X is actually better, Series Shit has more ram is it's only advantage, but it's CPU/GPU are worse than the one X and it cant utilize it anyway

Series X has better specs than either.

but what games lol?

>Holding back devs
I hate this meme.

Series S has better CPU but One X has better GPU

The series s cpu is leagues better than the 2012 netbook cpu in the one x. This isn't up for debate, it's precisely why the one x can't go above 30fps for many crossgen releases like even the series s can.

game looks peak good on my oled in hdr

C'mon now)))

sorry to say the one x, ps4 and back is effectively dead as of 2023, no matter how many cherrypicked examples you post

Tflops is just a figure that multiplies the shader count with the clock speed and multiples that by 2 for floating point operations. It's a great figure if all you want to do is number crunching but theoretical performance doesn't say a whole lot about gaming performance. For that you'd have to look at IPC. There are no good resources for comparing IPC between GCN2.0 and RDNA2, but from what I can gather it looks like it's around 1.2x better. So realistically, 4Tflop of RDNA2 is equivalent to around 4.8Tflop of GCN2.0 for gaming, so the series s is probably around 20% worse than the one x in raw GPU performance.

It does cause issues when devs want to leverage the ray tracing capabilities on the new consoles. They either have to give you shit performance at like 600p on the series s like they did with metro enhanced edition or they have to go though the process of implementing baked lighting and all other tricks they currently use to simulate decent lighting in scenes, which adds a lot of unnecessary work.
>it's not "holding" back anything anymore than a large majority running crusty PCs of similar or lesser hardware
Kek, devs have shown time and time again that they give no fuck whatsoever about how many pc gamers are running toasters. During the PS4 and Xbone era there were plenty of games with lower graphical settings on the base consoles than even the lowest possible settings on PC. On PC you have mods, so devs don't give a shit and let the community handle it for them.

I redownloaded this the other day after having not played it for years and god damn does it look good. Game is shallow as a puddle but their graphics team nailed it

>one x, ps4 and back is effectively dead as of 2023
We're far from 2023, bub :^)
The Series S has been sucking dick since Nov 2020

>muh raytracing and advanced graffix
there is silicon dedicated to handling this shit, and all the devs need is baked into the gdk
none of this is possible on the one x, not with its 2012 hardware
you're already seeing next gen only games coming soon with rt on series s like forza

Was a good lil machine to have while waiting for PC shit to drop in price.

Never claimed ray tracing would work on last gen consoles. Forza will be really interesting, because they've shown some really promising in game footage so far but apparently they misspoke and it was actually on PC. If it runs at like 1080p60 with so many reflections, dynamic lighting and shadows being handled by RT as well on the series s, then I'll eat my words and never claim again it'll hold back devs.

I wish I could get that controller
