I wouldn't necessarly hold it against people, the gaming community is full of autism and cringe so it's an understandable position to not wanting to make a big deal out of something that was at the time seen as fringe insanity. Out of all the hobbies that got pozzed gaming is still the one that resisted the hardest and attempted to actually push back and to this day does so. I think the sad truth is that the enemy was simply too big and powerful to effectively deal with, I mean if they can infiltrate and subvert the government institutions and military with their toxic ideology what chances did gaming have. All you can do is support developers that make quality products that appeal to you while not funding and trashing disgusting developers that antagonize you and make products to spite you.
