Why didn't Yukiko want to inherit her family's business?

3D women were a mistake

She wanted to "be free" like a Disney Princess, thinking that there was some magical world out there and the inn was just shackling her down. Then she grew up and realized that inheriting an inn that's the only notable place in Bumfuck Nowhere, Japan was actually a pretty sweet gig.

Best girl!

she watched too much TV and thought life would be better in the big city

That's a man, Yukiko.

she didn't want to service old ugly men forever, but now that's her only option

Living in the countryside fucking sucks, there's always the same people whose only source of entertainment is gossip, there are practically no social events, no nightlife, and there's nothing to do for the most part of the year.

...

She wants big city just like any whore out there.

Because we live in a world that tells young people that the path to happiness means avoiding any and all purpose and responsibility

I want this life

She thought that she was trapped in the small town, but realized people there loved and cared for her, so decided to stay.

It's a neat enough character arc. Plays off the clique of the "rich girl sick of being treated like a princess". And instead turns it into a wholesome story about loving families.

>I want to be a woman worthy of you
>I definitely think the owner of a failing business in small town with 0 population only famous for a place people go to get murdered is a worthy woman for the savior of humanity and the world
>WDYM what about all my dreams and goals I spent like 9 social links talking about? I don't care about any of that anymore because I am in love with a boy.
Adachi was right

her business wasn't failing, she didn't want to inherit it because she thought there was something better

She resented the notion that her life was already planned out for her and this perceived lack of freedom prevented her from actually thinking if she liked her life there in the first place. It turns out that she did in fact like her life there.

Its a fairly standard thing for kids who are born into a family buisness that they are expected to take over and continue to think

>She thought that she was trapped in the small town
She proves she is, the thought of not having a social safety net paralyzes her with fear. Oh and being disowned for refusing an inheritance is a real fucking thing, so its not like she chose it on her own with a supportive happy family or in a vacuum.
It's "failing" in the sense its superfluously unimportant and never gets guests
Sure the bank won't roll up and take it because your profits aren't high but you have low overhead because of generational wealth. But fundamentally, she's right.
Almost anything would be better. For the record, she doesn't even like working at the Inn. She doesn't like Inns. She doesn't like the town. She just likes her parents and doesn't want to upset them. It's classic japanese propaganda using the literal yamato nadeshiko.

She just felt like she didn't have a choice in the matter. When her family the staff was supporting her in leaving, that was when she realized she did have a say all the time. She just felt that working at the family inn run for generations, and the media touting her as the heir to the Amagi Inn before she even decided made her feel she never had a choice in her life.

But she did and now that she has the feeling of being forced removed, she realizes that she actually does love her family inn.

Everyone was supportive when she said she didn't want to inherit the inn. That was what made her realize she liked it.

>For the record, she doesn't even like working at the Inn. She doesn't like Inns. She doesn't like the town. She just likes her parents and doesn't want to upset them.
None of this is true.
