Well, you can rarely KNOW but you can guess. Speculate. Thinking from first principles is how you do so when the territory is unfamiliar, new, and information scarce. It's how science fiction writers and luminaries of yore managed to make some pretty accurate predictions decades before the culmination of trends which had only just began in their time.

Cynics might explain these feats of predictions by likening them to animals predicting the outcome of sports tournaments, i.e. a form of survivorship bias, them just being the ones who got lucky with their guesses and ending up being remembered for that while those who got it wrong (again, by chance) were forgotten. And while there might be some of that at play, this seems unlikely mathematically if for no other reason. There's too frequently people who get too much right for it to be just mere coincidence.

As for the rant in your OP, not having played MSG, what even is the suggestion here? To have some self-appointed would-be philosopher kings interpret the world for us? We tried that for a couple millennia, you know? It stifles innovation. Dogma is rarely a good thing. Call it context creation, call it censorship, it's nothing new and the result won't be any different. The antidote to the problem correctly outlined here is something else entirely: Objective, rational education, first principles thinking where appropriate and courage to speak truth regardless of who might get hurt or what might get destroyed in the process. One of the biggest issues today is moral cowardice: Too many people meekly going along with the deranged lunacy-du-jour, afraid of what might happen to them if they spoke up and said that in their heart of hearts they feel it to be wrong.

As someone nearing mid-30s I can attest to that image telling the truth. At best you can reach your late 20s burning time on useless shit but something does kick in and it hits real hard. If you don't have skills or are of little use to anyone and society as a whole you will be in a bad situation. Especially in the current climate.

You WILL begin to realise whats important in life and it will feel like your 20 years behind everyone else. Finding a good woman at this age with little going for you seems like an impossible task.

Best advise I can give is to use these negative emotions to advance yourself and turn things around. It's nature's way of giving you a shove but it's actually more like a good kicking.
