Recently tried taking in a homeless kitten that looked just like that. She had advanced feline leukemia and her teeth were all falling out. Vet said she was getting worse and it was going to be painful. She had to be put down the other day, but she got a couple weeks of love and shelter.

My cats destroyed the pleather handrests of my grandma's couch. We tried scratching poles but they would ignore them. In the end while I was dismantling the couch to throw it away and replace it I thought, "hey what if you kept the handrests, they're basically your cat's property now". So she has now one of the handrests shielding the new couch's exposed side and the other elsewhere in the house. I hear it's working great.
