MCL and Box Office Bust is his nephew Larry Lovage. You meet real Larry in Lefty's bar and he's also the tutorial narrator in MCL. In BOB he owns the film studio Lovage works at.

Leisure Suit Larry 7 is genuinely quite good. It's also the most erotic, but that's not the only thing which makes it a really good game.

The first three Larry games are really basic, they are from the 80s where the standards for point and click games were a lot lower.
They have their charms in that early Sierra game way, but you might leave unimpressed. And the various random death scenes do irritate.

There is no Larry 4, they skipped that number as a gag, and I've never played 5. But I know I wasn't big on Larry 6. I think they get the character wrong. Though I suppose as smut games they're fine.

Then they made two 3D almost action adventure Larry games, Magna Cum Laude and Box Office Bust.
The former (MCL) is weird. On one hand it has the funniest bullshit in the entire series. On the other the gameplay kinda sucks and some of the humor really falls flat.
Box Office Bust is genuinely one of the worst games ever made.

Then some Germans made a new game, I haven't played that one.

There's nudity in the Larry games. It doesn't go hardcore, but it's there.
And 7 does have more full on pornographic scenes I think.
I was told that, but I only watched the game on Youtube, and they said they cut out all of the pornographic shit.

Interestingly, Larry Laigher (however you spell his name) in MCL and BOB are completely different.
MCL Larry Laigher still has the same design and voice actor that Larry did in previous games.

Box Office Bust Larry Laigher doesn't share a voice actor and sounds like a stereotype of a perverted movie director.
He also looks like a fatter Harvey Weinstein

I'd pirate versions of Larry 1 through 3 because they're kinda neat.
It's more for the novelty of playing such an old game though.

All of the LSL games without Al Lowe are shit. That's all you need to know.

Visual Novel and Point and Click retard

It's Laffer and yeah, BOB did a lot of things wrong. I know Al Lowe hated Magna Cum Laude but at least it retained the Larry charm while updating it for the "college movie" setting. Pretty sure they were going for a full reboot.
