Marija said 5 "Super-Size Bosses" and that there are a lot of secrets.
My guess is that the 5 Super-Size Bosses have special backgrounds for each phase while there are also mini-bosses that use only 1 background like the base game.
In a recent interview with IGN she said that the DLC has as much unique animations as the base game. Going from that and the fact that apart from the background changing for each phase the bosses don't seem to be animated that much better then I can reasonably deduce that the "secrets" are in fact minibosses.
