shooting demons bambam

Why wouldn't you start with the first game?

Because I played Hexen recently and I don't want to play a 90s bullet sponge simulator with funky retro graphics

Doom doesn't have any bullet sponges.

Cringe.

It's pretty fun, it was my first Doom game too.

Pure KINO
Play Eternal after this one, I personally enjoyed both.

Very good atmosphere. Eternal sacrifices atmosphere for gameplay, which is a fair trade, but Doom 2016 is kino

A good time

Better to play this before Doom Eternal because once you do play Eternal, you won't be able to go back to this one.

Eternal sacrifices atmosphere, but individually the levels still have pretty good atmosphere.

>noooooo you can't just join the bandwagon now you have to have played the first doom the day it came out noooooooo!

story is dogshit though. atmosphere goes beyond having a detailed level. Most of the levels look and are fantastic, but they fail to convey the dread that 2016 sent.
2016 feels like a constant remainder that everyone there died. Eternal goes "oopsies! call them mortally challenged!!!" very often, which kills the ambience IMO

2016 is a solid shooter. Eternal changes to an interesting skill jungle system which you either love or hate
I've never seen someone call 2016 bad strait out, just not as good as either the original or eternal, depending on user's taste

>implying "Doom" isn't the first one

There are moments in this game that make you think "fuck yeah rip and tear" and that's all you really need. I'm a simple man, I don't need big titties crying about feelings to enjoy a game.
soundtrack is kino too

It's a bad game that repeatedly goes from getting locked in an arena with spawning demons to jump-puzzle gameplay, again and again and again. Shadow Warrior 2 was a better game.

A slightly better Painkiller.

Shooting demons

yes exactly

Heavy as shit soundtrack goes perfectly with killing hordes of demons
