Make Pac-man relevant

pacman as he stands right now is a character recognised moreso by his first game than anything that defines him and his personality, as flexible as it has been over the years. in fact, you could argue the general public is more familiar with pacman as a chomping pizza shape than a 3d sphere with arms and legs.
this reminds me of how mickey mouse existed for a while, where he was only really remembered by his historic first cartoon which did for animation what pacman did for videogames. mickey then lived on, like pacman, as a recognisable character design and cartoon rather than as a recognisable character as in a personality.
noticing this similarity and how mickey got out of this status in the early 2010s with the paul rudish mickey shorts, i think pacman should just use his huge namesake to make a completey new type of game that respects the roots of pacman but isnt bound by them, something crazy and what you wouldnt expect, something that desanitizes the brand and makes pacman his own personality again

honestly? just do what they're doing now and keep re-releasing the first few arcade games.
that's what people know pac-man for and that's what it really needs to be
maybe make some new arcade-style shakeups on the formula like 99 and 256 every now and then

that would be a tight game.

Pacman was already reinvented with Pacman World, its one of the best 3D platformers ever made and even someone that doesn't like the genre like me enjoyed it a lot. So yeah just make another one.
