It's more like Any Forums does not really care about games to begin with. They care about the social interaction, and games are used as a very throw-away excuse for that. This board is a surrogate social media network for people who are too insecure to maintain a permanent profile on any of them. But they still REALLY need that circlejerky sensation, that sense of acknowledgement, those likes and dislikes.

vanguard was perfect for me, i only disliked the ugly operators
i love having a clustered and bloated progression system that means you have to grind for 100 hours

combined with the other half of depressed and bitter people who believe if they tear down everyone and everything else into a bleak caricature, they will feel less bad about themselves giving up and stopping to take care of themselves and their lives because they have managed to make a heard of sheep bleat in the same tune as them.
