Really almost any variety of scripted losses are terrible in games. If you're going to make the character lose do it in a cutscene without allowing me to fight it. If you're going to let me fight them, even if I'm "supposed" to lose, have a contingency in place for if I win. Vanguard in Demon's Souls is a good example of doing it right, most players will die to Vanguard, but in the off chance someone does beat Vanguard they get rewarded with loot and then killed in a cutscene without their input.
>realistic sword combat
>in ff games
>win battle you're supposed to lose
>credits roll
>win battle in-game you're supposed to win
>the game chides you for it and calls you a bad person
Fuck youuuuuuu niggers
They might as well if they want to ruin the franchise by removing turned based combat
>win battle you're supposed to lose
>story branches
What? Just because it's real-time doesn't mean it has to be For Honor

>who says dumb cringe worthy shit all the time
No.
It shouldnt be realtime in the first place.
Battles that are a scripted loss but you can't lose too quickly or it's a game over
>>win battle in-game
>>still lose in cutscene
Gameplay wise you won yes, story no.
