ITT: Abandoned IPs

>Team finally makes the magnum opus after titles with glaring flaws
>Dropped any and all tacked-on mechanics it's competition had to preserve it's own identity
>Was a hit among both the fans of the series and critics
>Still no sequel or any hint of the IP returning 10 years after
And worst of all is that it has better handling and physics than the crew 1&2 yet Ub*soft didn't even inquire their input........Driver deserves better, even stuntman making a return would've been welcome

Watch Dogs was originally going to be called Driver but was changed.
Don't know how much that matters to you.

Command and Conquer is pretty much dead. C&C4 was awful. Red Alert 3 was wacky and had cheesy porn tier cutscenes, but was good. Mobile games are dogshit. Because strategy games don't sell too well and IP is already butchered, it's basically laying broken and abandoned in one of EA's dark pits.

i wish molyneux was not a hack and had made a proper new populous before retiring

Its for the better considering how Watch Dogs has a lot of open-world 3rd person shooter elements like GTA and the like, As evident with San Fransico, Driver is better off abadoning elements like that and instead focusing more on the driving, the 3rd person stuff only bring it down and Parallel lines and Driver 3 show that.
With so many IPs getting revived I would hope Driver or just Reflections gets another chance.

>Still no sequel
God I wish.

They couldn't even let Driver go out on a high note.

Also i'd pay good fucking money for OG Stuntman with a rock solid FPS, half the difficulty of that game was overcoming the chuuuuuuuuuug.

Driver had 1(one) good game and it was only good at the time before gta 3 shat all over it.

if you want a driving game those exist as forza horizon. take off your nostalgia goggles and let driver die just like sonic

This has to be bait.

I have a big soft spot for this series and it's a shame that there's nothing that similar to it out there. SR4 felt like a half assed attempt at capturing the movement

Tell me exactly why should Driver exist in 2022 without some idiotic nostalgia reasoning.
Driving alone is not enough when games like GTA V have complete driving mechanics.
It will never be popular or acceptable.
Driver:SF had a cool gimmick that was alright for an hour or so, you can't build an entire francise off that.

>Driving alone is not enough
Really, that's your argument? After having suggested Forza?

Your brain is rot.

your francise is rot.
forza has multiplayer, car customization, events, and various gamemodes.
driver has none of those.

still waiting for any explanation what unique thing driver provides as a francise.

>driver has none of those.
Driver doesn't have multiplayer, cutomization, events or game modes?
LMFAO

Ok, say you add all that, what makes driver any different from forza?
What does driver bring that Forza doesn't have?

>What does driver bring that Forza doesn't have?
A great physics engine and great vehicle handling, something Forza has and will never have.

That's up to personal taste, which can also be made by any IP other than Driver
Try again.

>Make great racing games
>Studio gets shutdown
I hate this, I know not everyone is into driving but come on.
>Driver had 1(one) good game and it was only good at the time before gta 3 shat all over it.
SF was genuinely a good game, there is nothing (You) can do about that.
>Driver:SF had a cool gimmick that was alright for an hour or so, you can't build an entire francise off that.
Calling a central mechanic a gimmick is a bit disingenuous, besides it isn't as if it can't be built upon with sequels and next iterations.
Though I'm not sure if the original staff are even at Reflections by now, I would be happy even with a new IP with those guys, them alongside BlackBox and Evolutions studios knew how to make driving just fun.

tfw no blur & driver sf hybrid battle royale with the goal of escaping sf and it’s tyrannical clamp down of naturally aspirated sports cars. could even leave the car hopping power in it just doesn’t slow down time.
>Quickly ghost carjack a bus to block the road and escape some Teslafag and their blur style red shell power up

>Blur actually had a sequel that got canned
Makes it all the more painful......

>which can also be made by any IP other than Driver
Then it can also be made by Driver.

Holy shit you are so fucking retarded, every argument you've made only disproves your own argument.

No retard, tell me 1(ONE) good reason why Driver should return
>muh good car handling
has nothing to do with Driver

Why Driver specifically?

>san francisco thread
im impressed

>has nothing to do with Driver
It has everything to do with Driver when it is the one thing it's always done better than the competition, it's the thing that defined the series.

Half a dozen posts later and you haven't posted anything that isn't drivel.

Driver parallel lines was good though

>got delisted years ago due to licensing expire
>mfw
