Even Nintendo 64 games are getting ray tracing. Ray tracing is the inevitable future, even for retro games.

Soulless unreal-tier shit. OoT in particular was specifically designed with a cinematic frame rate in mind.

That looks kinda pretty... Oh uh I mean, SOULLESS!!!!!!!

@FBI
@NintendoOfAmerica
NINTENDO SUE THIS MAN

so, they're gonna need to modify every game for this to work or is it some magic bullshit that works with every game?

>A very interesting side effect of this project has been researching a method to interpolate the rendering commands sent by an N64 game without actually modifying the game at all.

Isn't that something we don't really want tho

manual

OOT in 60 fps is seriously nauseating

mother of all copes here

you sound like my mom

>cinematic frame rate
name one movie that runs at 15 FPS

Then you can play without the 60fps mods. It takes LESS effort to play without it lmao.

What emu is this? Surely that plugin doesn't also do the stuff like FPS unlocking and widescreen hacks on top of the RT stuff?

IS THAT RAYTRACING?
OOOOHHH IMMM COOMING I CANT WAIT TO PLAY THE SAME 6 SHITTY GAMES AT 20FPS!!!!

Oh I got it, it's mupen64plus

It's going to be plugin-based, starting with support for Mupen64plus. The author also suggests that 60fps rendering (and most likely widescreen) as well is possible to implement due to the way rendering is handled separately from the game logic.

these games legit need to be slightly blurry to be playable

Yeah I saw the thread, nice stuff

slap a CRT filter then
