Overwatch was the only game that i think did lootboxes right. Enough rewards and easy to get. But I guess that's why they had to get rid of them because you dont really have to buy them ever.

That's what happens when a game goes f2p. The monetization screws really start to tighten.

No more RNG lootbox. Instead there is a rotating event for X number of days where playing the game gets your exp which progresses a leveling up bar for that event and each level up gets you a new item instead.

Simply put, play the game enough to finish a season, get all the items from that season.

The point is that there's objectively less control, you knew when the events were and when the skins were going to be available again, you knew you could buy anything for the anniversary even, you knew the default skins were always available to buy, all of that is gone now and Blizzard will use maximum overjew algorithms to make everyone sweat and open up their wallets just like they do for Diablo Immortal.

I played 2 games with battlepasses and I am struggling to see why people sperg about them.
