I think the game is very fun.
Like every f2p slant eyed menace MMO (which is what this is, it is a NetEase game) you can buy power. But people never raged against any of the big dick players here like Black Desert, Maplestory, Lost Ark, Lineage, etc. like they do this one.

Just quit when you hit endgame if you don't want to deal with it. The Battlegrounds PVP is shit but the Immortals vs Shadows stuff is kind of cool.
And for the love of god don't buy anything more than the $5 battlepass if anything at all.

The problem I see with it isn't even the monetization. From what I can tell there's no real attribute or skill point allocation. Everything custom about your character comes from gear, and there's very little to adjust outside of that. Granted I wouldn't want it to be insanely overcomplicated, unbalanced nonsense like PoE, but having literally nothing seems too much in the other direction.
Been getting back into Titan Quest and Grim Dawn. Now that feels like a happy middle ground. Hopefully D4 hits a sweet spot like that.

Yeah, they took D3 and somehow made it even more dumbed down. I wish we could get another character leveling system like Grim Dawn. Here's hoping that Titan Quest 2 can scratch that itch.

D4 will be another pay to win bullshit, no doubt, even "Blizzard" confirmed it. You will have to buy "cosmetics" for quicker progress in game or pay to identify legendary item but hey at least you are not buying gear straight from the cash shop right? Oh they can add options for identification too, for example the cheapest version gives you a chance to get "ancient legendary" item and the more expensive one guaranteed max stats on normal legendary and higher chance for ancient one.... Damn so many possibilites, maybe I should try my luck as cash shop director in blizzard.
