Same world. They're just all set in the shadowrun tabletop universe. Think Cyberpunk with an injection of standard western fantasy literally just popping up at some point.

It's not a hot opinion you retard. Look at something like Fallout: Tactics. Same genre, a million times better game, got middling reviews when it came out 20 years ago. All the Shadowrun games are unironically so bad that they would've been considered irredeemable garbage 20 years ago. And I emphasize 20 years ago because it's been 20-fucking-years, 20 years of time to get BETTER, so standards should be HIGHER. Instead, it's gotten worse, and standards are lower. And even by these shitty standards, these games are utter garbage.
So are all these other turn-based tactics games that have come out the last few years, like the wasteland games. I use the same standard for all of them. Is it worse than FO:T? If yes, then it's shit, and everyone 20 years ago would've thought it was shit. That you don't today only shows how shit you have become.

If you're going to play returns load it as the campaign in one of the other two. Don't play it on it's own, it has some serious mechanical issues.
