I don't understand how franchises that sell less than 3 million copies per game get so much funding and backing by Nintendo.
These two series are way overrepresented on the Switch
Fire Emblem has
>Three Houses
>Warriors
>Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light
>Warriors: Three Hopes
Xenoblade has
>2
>Torna
>Definitive Edition
>3
4 (FOUR) games in 5 years.
We haven't gotten a new Zelda game in 5 years, a 3D Mario game in 5 years, and hell, where is a new Donkey Kong? Star Fox? Kid Icarus? Punchout? F-Zero?
But no, let's dump our capital into these shitty waifubait coomer games that won't turn a profit.
>b-but nintendo doesn't develo-
Sure, but who's funding these projects?

Trust me, you do not want Intelligent Systems to make a DK/Star Fox/Kid Icarus game.

Japan loves paying JRPGs on handhelds.

>Twitter screencap thread

Why would you post this faggot sega simp? This guy slurps up sonic releases and rereleases like a retard but fans of anything else? Nah mate we need new games reeeeee

Fire emblem is only holding on due to the srength of the ip as user said you don't want IS working on anything else.

>Donkey Kong?
Dead.

>Star Fox?
Dead and nobody bought zero

>Kid Icarus?
Blame Sakurai because he doesn't believe in making unneeded sequels

>Punchout?
Nintendo haven't made one in over a decade and Next level games is too busy in the Mario mines

>F-Zero?
L O L

You are blaming the wrong fucking series'. FE and Xenoblade sell because they're Nintendo rpgs and Nintendo has historically had very little rpgs before outside of Pokemon (And it's not even really a Nintendo franchise anymore). They have an audience that WILL buy them

IS doesn't even make FE games anymore
they are completely enamored with their mobile game.

We need more Fire Emblem and Xenoblade because it makes fake Nintendo fans seethe

>We haven't gotten a new Zelda game in 5 years

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Link's Awakening, Skyward Sword HD

>Those are just spin-offs/remakes/remasters so they don't count.
Your list of FE and Xenoblade games also include spin-offs, remakes and remasters.

Torna doesn't count

You have to grow your IP, or else it stagnates, user. It's easier to run with something that's new and hot, and more difficult to revive something that's already dead.

Also, good RPGs are in horribly short supply compared to the SNES/PS1 eras. I won't suffer any arguments for making action games instead.

Is that guy retarded? How ever many games fire emblem gets doesn't affect other series, they're made by IS or outsourced, but it isn't stealing staff from nintendo itself.

Pretty sure IS are funding their own shit with gacha money even if they aren't directly making it. And it's not Monolith or IS's fault if the other studios are too lazy to make new entries or just don't want to see another flop.

Why are Nintendo YouTubers so afraid of rpgs? It's like these games are their kryptonite.

Rgt openly admitted in a video he can't and hasn't finished an FE game

Star Fox can’t really get any worse though, if anything IS working on it would be an improvement

It would be nice if they let monolith soft be more than 'the successor to xenogears' studio. I haven't been able to find it again but there was an interview made with the studio head, he said the money they get from nintendo is nice but every time they want to do something new nintendo shoots them down. So its a hit and miss for them now. Maybe they'll finally let them do something else after xenoblade 3 then.

Most of the people in the age range to be Nintendo youtubers grew up in the gamecube era when NoA mismanaged and gave bottom billing to everything "too Japanese". This, obviously, included a lot of RPGs.

>people still think Nintendo makes most of their games
why is it so hard for children to grasp the concept that Nintendo has slowly moved more and more into just being a publisher with a bunch of 2nd party studios under their belt? Nintendo does not make Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Bayonetta, Pokemon, Advance Wars, etc.. They did not meaningfully contribute to F-Zero GX. They barely even meaningfully contribute to Smash Bros. Most of their games are basically outsourced but they steal all the credit for it. Many different companies that aren't Nintendo helped with a lot of their more recent games. Just because they bought certain studios or have agreements with them doesn't mean those studios are Nintendo. Even the Mario Sports games, Metroid, Donkey Kong, etc.. are all done by other people.

Games like Wario Land, Wario Ware, mainline Mario and Zelda, Animal Crossing, etc.. those are actually Nintendo games. The company making Xenoblade literally survives off of it. Same with the Fire Emblem company. That is why those teams just spam those games.

Why do Nintendo fans act like Nintendo isn’t a conglomerate of dozens of development studios but rather a single studio responsible for every game that comes out?

Same thing happened with that Muppet knockoff.
‘Wahhhh why does Kirby get so many games where’s Pikmin?!’ Because HAL is responsible for Pikmin right? Because a Kirby game being made is taking away from a new Kid Icarus game right? Intelligent Systems and Koei Tecmo doesn’t have shit to do with Starfy or ExciteBike.

Fucking retards. You’d think with them being channels dedicated to covering Nintendo shit they’d know more about the company or the basics of game development.

>FE and Xenoblade sell because they're Nintendo rpgs

True, but it also goes a little deeper than that. FE and Xenoblade also make BANK relative to low investment costs (budget, manpower, time) since they're so comparatively simple to make. Same logic applies to Pokemon. If you can get a good-sized install base of people interested in a JRPG series, you can milk that indefinitely because JRPGs can be pumped out fairly quickly and easily compared to games that require tons of fine-tuned environmental interaction and all that crap (Mario, Zelda, etc.).

If a new Donkey Kong or Star Fox were as cheap and easy to make as a new Fire Emblem or Pokemon, Nintendo would try again in a heartbeat. It's just too much labor investment to make them, which means less of a chance of making money on it.

>user can´t understand economy
If you invest 10 million during 4years (you have to maintain people during these years) in fire emblem and get 180 million - 100000 (ads) + memorabilia from the massive fanbase you earn more than
Investing 400 million during 9 years (maintain commiefornian wages lol) in the flop us with a divided fanbase

Xenoblade games are open-world RPG, how the fuck is that cheap to make? Sure, there's less interactions to make, but the amount of assets is fucking huge. A single Xenoblade games has more enemy types than every single Mario games combined.
