It filters most people. The early game is rough, the best gameplay is when you are battling monsters, the only two important dungeons where you can do that constantly are at the end of the game, and lastly damage reduction is flat so its more than possible to encounter invulnerable bandits near the beginning of the game. The game has thousands of filters to intimidate and tell new players to fuck off. Its the games main flaw and why opinion is so divided on it.
