People love this game. I personally didn’t like it because the gameplay was boring imo. I’d rather just read a book.

I liked it. My only gripe is if it wanted to criticize certain political ideologies they should've been researched more. A lot of the criticism against fascism and communism comes off as a bit shallow

It's easier to criticize the ideologies of the current ruling powers, which in this case are liberalism and centrism in Estonia and most of the Western and Western-adjacent world.

Just because it talks about politics above middle school level people just go full retard.
When the truth is that the game is barely about politics at all.
It isn't offering any meaningful analysis of any ideology beyond taking the piss.
The game is much more interested in how people use ideology to give their lives direction and meaning (which is most clearly exemplified by the main character who jumps head first into the ideology of the last person he talked to thinking it will finally fix his fucked up life).

It's like a CRPG with all the good parts gutted out. It has no gameplay. It has no game mechanics. It has no role playing. You don't get to solve a mystery. It's on rails. The story is mediocre. You don't get to make choices that affect the story at the most important moments, like the Tribunal. The story has no stakes. The characters are unlikable. The characters aren't believable. The writing has no substance.

Oh well, to each their own. Some people like nu-fun.

That couldn't be less true. It's literally the opposite, the game deals with politics and everything else is a backdrop. The very heart of the crime is to do with politics. The killer is a communist and kills for political reasons (and other reasons, but primarily political). The murder victim is a mercenary who's hated in Revochol - because of politics. The woman he's with? A political spy. The men who help her cover up the death? Communist teamsters. The man who takes your gun? Communist. Your based partner? Obsessed with identity politics. Then there's Measurehead.

When they added a director's cut to the game, what content was added? Quests to flesh out the political identities.

But that's okay. People have lied about this game since it was released. Everyone knows it only gets threads because of political shitposting. I'm sure that's a coincidence, and in fact, the game is not about politics at all....

It not hated, here we can discuss it freely whether you are a tranny or a chud you can give your opinion on it and people will have different opinions user. I loved the game, especially the interface I can see more vertical dialogue coming in the future, it made the reading very quick for me.
