>abra kadabra
>alakazam
how did no one at nintendo notice this? this is just lazy as fuck
Abra kadabra
>abra kadabra
i literally never noticed this before.....
>how did the laziest company in the industry not notice that their greatest cash cow is lazy
Nintendo definitely noticed since that one magician who has abra kadabra trademarked or something got upset and both Abra and Kadabra stopped being made for the card game for over 10 years.
More like based as fuck.
i'm not sure if i ever focused on it at the time. there was some local language variation for it that mages used that was more well known among kids
Better than their original English names desu
>Abra
>Kadabra
>Simsala
Bimbros...
>Catterp
>Butterf
>Sandshr
>Weepinb
Yuri Gellar. Kadabra's Japanese name referenced him and Gellar labeled it an antisemitic stereotype, threatening lawsuits. Kadabra was banned from merch and anime appearances for like two decades until Gellar finally apologized.
>Pidgeot
>Pidgeot
Better imo
Kadabra looks way better than Alakazam.
I literally noticed this as soon as I saw it and thought "haha funny because telekinesis is basically magic." Would you rather their names be
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo?
Already taken by dragonball.
Where did its tail go? Alakazam's design looks incomplete without it.
>Ekans
>Snake
AAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIE I'M GOING INSANE
>shiny is literally the Blue Morpho
The abra line is influenced a lot by eastern magic fox myths. I think alakazam is supposed to be less fox-like than the previous forms and more full blown monsters.
Makes sense, but it's a shame because I like big bushy tails :(
Antisemitism is anything I don't like
“This is Morpho. Arriving shortly at LZ!”
The japanese name of venomoth is morphon
>Weird mental powers monster bending spoons is antisemitism
>nintendo
It's funny because Hypno is a much bigger antisemitic trope.
>Big nose
>Child kidnapping
>Coin clipping
>Nomadic
In the original green/blue sprite art Alakazam has a jew star on his forehead.
>kadabra
>kaDABra
>dab
seriously?
